This position will require you to manage multiple deadlines, and to periodically complete tasks with quick turnarounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and enhance the organization’s funding, liquidity, and capital adequacy models to ensure accurate forecasting, risk measurement, and strategic decision-making.

  • Analyze and monitor balance sheet risks, including interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, liquidity risk, and capital management metrics, while identifying emerging trends and potential risks.

  • Prepare comprehensive management reporting and detailed financial analysis.

  • Develop and present short- and long-term debt funding strategies to the Manager, Asset Liability Management, supporting funding optimization and strategic capital planning.

  • Evaluate capital levels and leverage ratios to determine and recommend appropriate dividend declaration amounts.

  • Support the preparation of high-quality presentations, reports, and briefing materials for the Board of Directors, Asset Liability Committee (ALCO), and senior leadership teams.

  • Communicate complex ALM concepts, financial results, and risk management insights to stakeholders across the organization, including senior management and executive leadership teams.

  • Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, Risk Management, Treasury Capital Markets, and other business units to ensure alignment of balance sheet strategies and risk management objectives.

  • Maintain and continuously improve ALM-related policies, procedures, methodologies, and controls to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Ensure all operating procedures, models, assumptions, and reporting processes are thoroughly documented, reviewed, and updated on a regular basis.

  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic initiatives, regulatory requests, management inquiries, and business decisions.

  • Participate in projects related to treasury management, balance sheet optimization, regulatory reporting, model enhancements, and process improvements.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative discipline.

  • 5–7 years of experience in ALM, Treasury, Capital Management, Liquidity Risk Management, Financial Risk Management, or a related finance function.

  • Experience working and guidelines within a financial institution (bank, credit union, trust company, insurance company, or other regulated financial services organization).

  • Demonstrated experience in balance sheet analysis, interest rate risk, and liquidity management.

  • Experience preparing management reporting and presenting financial analysis to senior stakeholders or committees.

  • Strong understanding of Asset Liability Management principles, balance sheet management, funding and liquidity risk, capital adequacy, and interest rate risk management.

  • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, stress testing, and scenario analysis.

  • Knowledge of securities, derivatives, debt funding strategies, and capital markets activities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts to senior stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Knowledge of banking or financial services regulatory requirements related to liquidity, capital, and balance sheet risk management is preferred.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with Finance, Treasury, Risk, and business-line stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Professional designation in progress or completed (CPA, CFA, FRM, PRM, or equivalent) is considered a strong asset.

This role plays a key part in supporting the organization’s financial strength and strategic objectives by providing robust analysis, effective risk management, and actionable recommendations related to funding, liquidity, capital, and balance sheet management.
