Description

The Clinical Director of the Boston Living Center is responsible for ensuring the highest quality clinical support services for individuals participating in the program. The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership, supervision and education to the direct care staff of the Boston Living center. The Clinical Director supports the implementation of specialized mental health, substance abuse, and human services including prevention and education efforts within the program. The Clinical Director coordinates all clinical support services including, at times, providing support and services directly to program participants. This position reports to the Program Director of the Boston Living Center.


Location:

The Boston Living Center is a drop-in day center in Boston’s Back Bay serving marginalized individuals in the community since the 80’s. The center has been helping to erase stigma and facilitate connections for its members through peer supported, congregate services, which aim to care for the whole individual, promoting stabilization and healthy connections through the lifespan.


Essential Functions:

  • Act in accordance with Victory Programs, Inc.'s Standards of Excellence at all times, including maintaining professional ethics, professional boundaries, and client confidentiality.
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Boston Living Center (BLC), ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered services.
  • Utilize social work theory and evidence-informed practices to support program implementation, staff development, and client care.
  • Provide clinical consultation, crisis assessment, de-escalation and intervention support for BLC clients experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.
  • Support the program’s direct service staff in addressing clients' behavioral health, substance use, medical, human service, and psychosocial needs through case consultation and guidance.
  • Provide clinical consultation on complex cases, including recommendations for care planning, referrals, navigation, and coordination of services.
  • Facilitate regular case conferences and clinical consultations to support quality client care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to designated BLC staff and social workers pursuing licensure, as appropriate. Provide supervision of non-clinical BLC human service staff, as assigned, such as case managers.
  • Supervise social work interns assigned to the Boston Living Center and support their learning and professional development.
  • Identify staff training needs and provide or coordinate clinical training related to documentation, behavioral health, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and other relevant topics for BLC staff.
  • Monitor the quality of clinical documentation through periodic record reviews and provide coaching to promote compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical groups and interventions offered at the Boston Living Center.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records and documentation.
  • Participate in administrative supervision, program meetings, trainings, and agency initiatives as required.
  • Maintain all licensure and continuing education requirements necessary to remain in good standing.
  • Represent the Boston Living Center in community meetings and collaborative partnerships, as requested.
  • Assist with reports, the implementation of contract scopes of services and associated requirements, quality improvement activities, and other program-related projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Masters level clinician with a degree in Social Work, LICSW required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with clients in priority populations, including substance use disorder, mental health, homeless families and/or HIV/AIDS.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing individual and/or group clinical supervision to interdisciplinary teams of staff.
  • Demonstrated competence in care coordination and networking with human service/health care providers.
  • Experience in models of group work, group formation and facilitation preferred
  • Understanding and experience in using adult learning theory in program development and training preferred.
  • Strong organizational, managerial and supervisory experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft products.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Current TB assessment, and CPR certification.

Job Type: Full Time (40 hours/exempt)

Rate:  $81,097 Annually 


Our benefit program includes a 75% health and 25% dental employer premium contribution, 100% employer paid disability and life insurance. Victory Programs offers a generous paid time off package to employees working 20+ hours a week including vacation, sick, and personal time as well as holidays. Upon hire, employees working 20+ hours a week are entitled to up to: 4 personal days, 160 sick hours, 10 holidays and 3 1/2 weeks of vacation. These figures adjust based on full time or part time status and allocated vacation time increases with length of employment.
