Equipment Integration (EI) Lead

About the Role

We need an experienced EI Lead who understands both the clean, compliant world of GEM 300 and the messy reality of legacy tools that predate it. You will lead the technical implementation and actively develop a small team of capable, early-career engineers.

We are automating a 150mm/200mm semiconductor fab toward a "place and go" standard, then toward full automation.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and implementation of place-and-go automation across a mixed 150mm/200mm toolset.
• Drive EI-to-MES integration across a factory environment with tools at varying levels of SECS/GEM compliance.
• Develop and execute practical solutions for legacy tools that lack GEM 300 support, bridging old and new standards without replacing the underlying architecture.
• Own the gap analysis between current tool capabilities and target automation state.
• Mentor and actively teach a team of 4–5 junior EI engineers, building their knowledge and confidence is a core part of this role.
• Improve cross-site EI consistency and coordination with sister sites in Asia.
• Serve as the senior technical resource for EI communication issues, tool onboarding, and automation logic.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with equipment integration (EI) in a semiconductor fab environment.
• Hands-on EI-to-MES integration experience, understanding how equipment data flows into and drives manufacturing execution.
• Experience achieving place-and-go (or equivalent) automation, at minimum; full factory automation experience strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to automate older, non-GEM-300-compliant tools, finding workable solutions for legacy equipment within a modern automation framework.
• Track record of teaching or mentoring junior engineers: you can explain complex EI concepts clearly and develop others' skills over time.
• Comfortable working within an established architecture rather than advocating for a replatform.
• Able to work independently in a remote capacity while maintaining strong communication with a distributed team.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Eyelit Factory Connect and/or Equipment Connect
• PROMIS MES familiarity
• Cross-site or multinational fab coordination experience.
• Background in SPC, FDC, or scheduling integration.

Location

This role is primarily remote, with on-site presence in California required during onboarding and periodically thereafter. Most planning, analysis, and mentoring can be conducted remotely once you are up to speed on the tools and environment.
