Description
- Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care across the lifespan, including prenatal, postpartum, and gynecologic services.
- Manage high-risk obstetrical patients in collaboration with medical leadership.
- Conduct health histories and comprehensive physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and develop treatment plans.
- Provide contraceptive counseling, STD screening and follow-up, pregnancy care, menopause care, and treatment of common infections.
- Educate patients and families and coordinate referrals as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with Park West policies.
- Serve as a member of Park West’s medical leadership team and attend required leadership and committee meetings.
- Provide clinical leadership to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, HRSA, OSV, and other accreditation requirements.
- Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives within the Ob/Gyn department.
- Promote integration of Ob/Gyn services with behavioral health, dental, and other clinical disciplines.
- Serve as a provider advocate and super user of Park West’s electronic medical record system.
- Monitor provider productivity, performance, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Mentor, supervise, and evaluate medical providers and assigned staff.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
- Coordinate provider schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and patient access.
- Support recruitment, credentialing, onboarding, and retention of providers in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Approve continuing education, in-service training, and professional development activities.
- Participate in internal planning to expand women’s health services and care delivery models.
- Represent Park West in community and stakeholder discussions related to obstetric and gynecologic care.
- Identify, implement, and refine innovative care delivery approaches, with an emphasis on wellness and preventative care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master’s Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (MSN or DNP) with specialized training as a Certified Registered Nurse Midwife.
- Current Maryland licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Midwife.
- Prescriptive authority in the state of Maryland.
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience as a CNM.
- Ambulatory care, supervisory, and administrative experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in private practice, hospital-based, urgent care, or acute care settings will be considered.
