Why this role matters
The Beacon is one of Perth’s most significant emergency accommodation and referral support services, offering safety, stability and hope for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. As Centre Manager, you will lead a service that supports individuals during deeply vulnerable moments. Your leadership will shape a culture of compassion, professionalism and excellence, ensuring every person who arrives feels respected, supported and empowered to move toward a more secure future.
About the role
You will oversee all operational aspects of The Beacon’s emergency accommodation and associated services. This includes leading service delivery, managing the facility, guiding a high-performing team and maintaining strong relationships with government, sector partners and community stakeholders. You will ensure services align with national and state strategic plans and the National Homelessness Stream Model of Care.
This permanent full-time role sits within the WA Homelessness Leadership Team and contributes to shaping homelessness responses across the state.
Pay is in accordance with SCHADS Level 7.
How you will make an impact
Contribute to planning and guide implementation of national and state frameworks
Build and support a capable and compassionate team
Maintain positive relationships with agencies and stakeholders
Identify and pursue new funding opportunities
Stay informed of sector trends and evidence-based practice
Embed the National Homelessness Stream Model of Care
Manage all operational aspects of the service
Implement national governance and accountability processes
Ensure risk strategies are in place and actively maintained
Ensure service delivery meets contractual and accreditation standards
Prepare and oversee service budgets
Foster a culture of learning, affirmation and cooperation
Recruit, induct and develop team members
Advocate for clients and contribute to sector forums
Collaborate with TSA colleagues across states and service streams
What you will bring
Tertiary qualification in social work, welfare, community development or related discipline
Extensive experience in social services including leadership
Experience working with community, sector and government bodies
Understanding of human development theory and trauma impacts
Knowledge of general intervention models
Ability to exercise initiative, discretion and positive judgement
Ability to work effectively with challenging or high-risk situations
Commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement
Ability to lead and coach others through change
Ability to remain calm, adaptable and grounded in challenging situations
Current WA Drivers Licence
Valid WA Working with Children Check
First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
