Pre-Licensed Compensation Matrix

Base Salary: $35,568 (based on minimum 24 billable hours requirement)

Tier 1: 0-23.9 billable hours - Base Salary + $20/hr

Tier 2: 24-26.9 billable hours - $45.00/hr 

Tier 3: 27+ billable hours - $70.00/hr

Tier 2: 24-26.9 billable hours - $64.00/hr

Position Summary

The Mental Health Professional plays a vital role in fulfilling Progress Valley’s mission of providing individualized care for the clients we serve. This position delivers outpatient mental health services that are compassionate, collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based practice while supporting each client’s immediate and long-term treatment goals.

The Mental Health Clinic is open Monday through Friday and provides mental health services to clients currently receiving care at Progress Valley, as well as individuals from outside the organization. This role requires creativity, professional judgment, strong communication, ethical practice, and a commitment to providing care that treats people with dignity and respect.

Essential Responsibilities

Service

Provides compassionate, respectful, culturally responsive outpatient mental health care that upholds diversity, equity, and inclusion; supports dignity, hope, choice, and individualized healing; and equips clients with tools for a better life.

  • Deliver outpatient mental health services by assessing diagnoses, developing collaborative treatment plans, and completing necessary documentation.
  • Achieve a minimum of 24 billable client hours each week; additional billable hours will enhance compensation according to the compensation model.
  • Partner with clients to set immediate and long-term mental health treatment goals and objectives, and determine the treatment approach and resources to be used.
  • Support clients in enhancing self-regulation, problem-solving, coping strategies, and social skills.
  • Use psychoeducation with clients and assist them in identifying additional resources as needed.
  • Deliver culturally competent care, ensuring therapy is tailored to individual cultural, gender, and lifestyle differences.

  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the EHR system, including mental health treatment plans, diagnostic assessments, weekly progress notes, group progress notes, collaboration with other providers, and other client-related mental health information.
  • Adhere to applicable laws, regulations, ethical standards, licensing board requirements, reimbursement standards, and agency policies related to client care and confidentiality.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards with both staff and clients in accordance with DHS, licensing boards, and organizations that reimburse Progress Valley Inc.

Awareness

Uses clinical judgment, self-awareness, and respectful communication to understand client needs, collaborate with care partners, and bring human connection to the science of evidence-based practice.

  • Assess each client’s mental and emotional health and collaborate with their other providers to offer integrated treatment services.
  • Identify client crises and take appropriate action in a professional, therapeutic, and positive manner.
  • Evaluate the need for additional therapeutic modalities, such as couples, family, and group therapy, to better meet clients’ needs.
  • Collaborate with internal staff and external professionals regarding client treatment and services to ensure comprehensive, high-quality care.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with ancillary programs and services at Progress Valley.

Ownership

Takes responsibility for clinical duties, treatment coordination, client confidentiality, documentation, and follow-through while empowering clients through purpose, choice, and action.

  • Conduct individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions within the scope of training, supervision, and applicable standards.
  • Provide case management to coordinate services, agencies, resources, and individuals within a structured plan aimed at achieving established goals when appropriate.
  • Participate in clinical consultation meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions to improve clinical skills and support client well-being.
  • Foster and uphold a positive work culture aimed at enhancing the lives of the clients we serve.

  • May supervise interns, as credentialing permits.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Behavioral Health or qualifying field required.
  • Licensed as an LP, LPCC, LICSW, or LMFT or Eligible for supervision toward licensure as an LP, LPCC, LICSW, or LMFT 
  • Experience in individual and group mental health therapy or counseling preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the chemical dependency treatment continuum preferred.
  • Ability to develop a strong referral base and maintain positive public relations with referring agencies and the business community at large.
  • Must be able to pass DHS Rule 11 background check.
  • CPR/First Aid trained or ability to obtain.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Ability to structure time well and develop priorities.
  • Current TB Gold Test or ability to obtain.

Work Environment & Schedule

Position operates in an outpatient mental health clinic environment with frequent communication with clients, internal teams, and external providers.

The Mental Health Clinic is open Monday through Friday.

Physical Requirements

Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing.
