Work Hours: Vary; Monday-Friday 3 p.m. - 8 p.m.; Occasional Saturday shifts
JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Manager - Program (Vending/Concessions), the Attendant - Recreation Facility (Sportsplex) performs routine duties in support of concession operations at City of Orange Beach Parks and Recreation facilities, including the Sportsplex, Performing Arts Center (PAC), and other assigned locations. This position assists with food and beverage service, cash handling, inventory support, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patrons in accordance with Health Department standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepares, serves, and sells food and beverage items to patrons in a timely and courteous manner.
Provides friendly, professional customer service while maintaining a positive attitude and appropriate appearance.
Operates a cash register, accurately handles cash and credit card transactions, and provides correct change.
Assists with stocking, restocking, and rotating concession items to maintain adequate inventory levels.
Performs routine food preparation, cleaning, and general maintenance of concession areas and equipment.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards in all concession areas in compliance with Health Department regulations.
Follows established safety procedures and safe food-handling practices at all times.
Works at multiple Parks and Recreation facilities and special events as assigned by the Manager - Program (Vending/Concessions).

Basic knowledge of customer service principles.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to cash handling and sales.

Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
Ability to maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety and sanitation standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Must be available to work a variable schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non-standard hours based on facility and event schedules.

Previous experience in food service, retail, or customer service

The environment may be fast-paced and occasionally hot. The job involves everyday risks and discomforts requiring normal safety precautions, including safe use of food preparation equipment, awareness of slip and trip hazards, and adherence to fire, health, and safety regulations.
