The Portfolio Management Lead, Enterprise Technology Prioritization is responsible for advancing and operationalizing enterprise portfolio management practices that drive strategic alignment, portfolio transparency, governance, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), performance measurement, and continuous improvement across the technology organization.The ideal candidate combines strong portfolio management expertise with analytical, operational, and communication skills to drive portfolio maturity and improve organizational effectiveness across a complex technology environment.
The Portfolio Management Lead, Enterprise Technology Prioritization is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, communication, and continuous improvement of Humana’s technology prioritization process. This role operates within the Portfolio Management discipline, using Lean Portfolio Management principles to enable consistent portfolio planning, governance, transparency, and value-based decision-making across the enterprise.
This role partners across Business, Technology, Tech Finance, Technology Leadership, the Transformation Office, the COO organization, and Segment Portfolio teams to ensure portfolios understand and execute prioritization expectations, submission timelines, investment intake requirements, and enterprise portfolio management standards. The Portfolio Management Lead helps ensure prioritization processes support effective planning across the enterprise while operating within established governance guardrails.
The role serves as a strategic portfolio advisor, prioritization process owner, and cross-functional enablement lead for enterprise prioritization readiness, stakeholder alignment, communications, training, and knowledge management. Through strong portfolio discipline, this role enables transparent, data-informed Executive Leadership Team quarterly prioritization decisions and helps ensure technology investments are aligned to Humana’s enterprise strategic priorities, 5-year strategy, segment roadmaps, portfolio outcomes, and measurable value delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and communicate the deliverables and timelines for submissions of new or extending work for the ELT to make quarterly prioritization decisions
Partner across Business, Tech Finance, Technology Leadership, and Transformation Office to ensure coordination and understanding of the Tech Prioritization Process
Mentor and Coach Segment Portfolio Leaders and their teams on Lean Portfolio Management best practices at Humana
Partner across the COO organization to align Tooling, Coaching and Project Management Support to Portfolios in need
Own the design and upkeep of all Prioritization communication and materials, delivered via multiple channels including: Centers of Excellence, Team Meetings, Outlook Email newsletters and memos, SharePoint news articles and documents, and more
Design and deliver Prioritization Readiness training ahead of kicking off the new year’s submission rounds
Provide data updates that are inputs to the Quarterly Business Reviews at the Enterprise level
Maintain knowledge management resources used in Prioritization including: PowerPoint decks, Stack Ranking Tool, Power BI Dashboards (Product Owner role only), etc.
Partner within and across various organizations to provide clarity to Portfolio Teams going through Prioritization to answer key questions and remove roadblocks and bottlenecks
Clearly communicate the Enterprise Strategic Priorities, and how Prioritization Initiatives should align to both the Humana 5-year plan and Segment and Local Roadmaps and Outcomes
Own and facilitate key connection points such as:
Weekly Prioritization Check-in calls with Portfolio Leaders
Monthly Prioritization Check-in calls with Tech and Business Partners
Updates to the TLT on upcoming needs to support continuous prioritization
Document and publish desk level processes and resource documents for different user groups. Develop supporting training plans and content

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, Management, or related field
8+ years of experience in portfolio management, PMO leadership, strategic planning, governance, business operations, or related disciplines
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to run large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for multiple project teams
Demonstrated experience leading portfolio governance, reporting, planning, and performance management processes
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Strong understanding of portfolio management principles, strategic planning, Agile delivery methodologies, and Lean Portfolio Management concepts
Experience developing executive-level dashboards, scorecards, presentations, and performance reporting
Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills.
Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization without direct authority
Experience working in large, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholder groups
Preferred Qualifications
Possess a solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes
Scaled Agile framework (SAFe) certified, preferably Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) or SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC)
Experience facilitating executive reviews, governance forums, and cross-functional planning activities
Experience supporting enterprise-wide portfolio governance within a complex technology organization
Proficiency with ServiceNow PPM, Jira Align, Azure DevOps, Power BI, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting.
