Description

Overview

UW Credit Union is a $6 billion member-owned financial cooperative serving 390,000+ members across Wisconsin. Our mission is to improve the financial well-being of our members — and our Social Media Content Producer ensures that mission is visible through our social media channels.

As our Social Media Content Producer, your primary focus is content creation. Reels, TikToks, Stories, carousels, static graphics and beyond – you are well versed in a variety of social media formats and know how to optimize content for each channel. When you’re not creating content, you’re tackling the day-to-day requirements of social media, like tending to our online community and responding to member feedback.  Why Join Us

  • Your work will actually be seen. As a growing credit union with an active social presence, your content won't get lost, it'll be part of how our community sees and connects with us every day.
  • A team, not a solo gig. You’ll be part of a social media team, so you’re never creating in a vacuum.
  • Real creative freedom within a supportive structure. Concepts are collaborative, but once you're rolling, you'll have genuine ownership over how the content comes to life.
  • Purpose-driven content. You're not just chasing views, you're helping real members feel more confident about their financial lives, from first-time homebuying to everyday money decisions.
  • Work with people you respect. Our team is smart, savvy and enthusiastic.
  • Live your life. We have a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote). While you work in social, you’re not expected to let it take over your life. With rare exceptions, when you’re off the clock, you are off the clock.

Who You Are

You're the person who can't scroll past a great TikTok without thinking about why it worked, and how it could work for other brands. You're comfortable stepping in front of the camera as easily as you are editing behind it, and you don't need someone hovering over your shoulder to figure out the logistics of getting a great shot.

Outside of the creative work, you're someone who thrives on structure without needing to be micromanaged. If you're given a concept, you can independently figure out the logistics: where to film, what equipment you need, how to get the file from your phone to your laptop without losing quality. You don't need someone to hold your hand through the "how," just clarity on the "what."

And maybe most importantly, you actually like people. You enjoy meeting your peers at work and getting to know them. You also don’t mind being out and about in the community, talking to members or approaching passersby for a “man on the street”-style video.

At the end of the day, this role is for someone who sees social media as more than a job, it's a craft. You bring creativity, curiosity and genuine care to everything you make, whether that's a scroll-stopping Reel, a well-timed comment, or a graphic pulled together in Canva five minutes before it needs to go live. If you're looking for a place where your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your work actually connects with real people, this is exactly where you belong.

This job is right for you if:

  • You'd rather be creating content than talking about creating content.
  • You're organized enough to juggle five things at once without dropping the ball.
  • You’re comfortable being in front of the camera from time to time.
  • You genuinely enjoy the "unglamorous" parts of social media, like responding to comments and scheduling content.
  • You're curious by nature and already know what's trending before your friends send it to you.
  • You want a role where you can build real skills and grow into bigger responsibilities over time.
  • You want your work to mean something. For us, that includes fairness in banking, community impact and member financial wellbeing.

What differentiates someone great at this job from someone just okay:   Someone who's just okay at this job will make good content when the concept is handed to them. Someone great will take that same concept and instinctively know how to make it feel native to a platform, elevate it with a clever caption or suggest a small tweak that makes it perform better.

You're comfortable being on camera. Not "professional actor" comfortable, but the kind of comfortable where you can jump in front of a camera, hit record and just be yourself without overthinking it. That same energy extends to directing others. If a coworker is nervous about being on camera, you know how to put them at ease and pull a genuine, natural moment out of them.

Someone who is okay at this job only thinks about the post. Someone who is great thinks about the post and all the other details that come with it – like thumbnails, captions, alt text, subtitles and more – and doesn’t treat them as afterthoughts, but part of the overall puzzle of a social media post.

Finally, someone who is just okay in this role waits to be told what tool or approach to use. Someone great is resourceful by nature, figuring out the best way to get the shot, direct a nervous coworker on camera, or troubleshoot a file transfer, without needing to ask.
