Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The laser operator will work effectively and efficiently to fabricate quality parts using both laser and finishing tools from engineering drawings.
Additional Job Duties include:
Operate laser machine in safe and efficient manner
De-nest completed parts, inspect and match to prints
Material handling: receive, check-in and stock/put away raw materials
Inventory maintenance: issue material, cycle count and manage obsolete material
Read and analyze complex prints, layouts, or route sheets to determine optimal set-up
Identify and communicate with project team regarding priorities, issues and documentation
Maintain workflow in area
Assist with post laser operations
Perform preventative maintenance of laser
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. Military, trade school or community college coursework in hydraulic-mechanical assembly, repair, and troubleshooting desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a high level of physical flexibility, strength, and stamina, including the ability to: see and assess drawings, photos, and written instructions; audibly hear verbal instructions and mechanical signals (forklifts, cranes, machine alarms, etc.); and speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be willing and able to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds; have full range of body movement: head, neck, shoulders; lift arms overhead; work overhead; reach, lift, push/pull, walk, climb, kneel, bend; good dexterity and range of movement in fingers, hands and wrists
