We are looking for a Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist to manage import and export customs operations, ensuring efficient clearance, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination across our global logistics network.

The Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for coordinating customs clearance activities for inbound and outbound shipments, preparing customs documentation, liaising with authorities and service providers, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and World Courier procedures.

This role is critical to supporting the movement of highly regulated healthcare products across international borders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage import and export customs declarations using EDI systems and customs platforms.
• Prepare customs documentation, tariff classifications and customs valuation in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Coordinate customs clearance activities for pharmaceutical, biological, controlled and other regulated products.
• Monitor shipments from origin to final delivery, ensuring timely customs processing and shipment visibility.
• Communicate with customers, customs authorities, airlines, brokers and World Courier offices worldwide.
• Support specialized clearances requiring permits, inspections or regulatory approvals.
• Maintain accurate customs records, electronic files and compliance documentation.
• Monitor customs charges, airfreight costs and shipment-related expenses.
• Ensure compliance with World Courier SOPs, customs regulations and trade requirements.
• Investigate and resolve customs or shipment-related issues to minimize operational disruptions.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Education

• Experience in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Logistics or International Trade.
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, customs documentation, TARIC and Incoterms.
• Experience handling customs clearance for regulated products is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare or time-critical logistics environments is a plus.
• Fluent English and Spanish required.
