Description

Overview

LEARN Behavioral is a national organization made up of dedicated and caring individuals with the sole purpose of nurturing children with autism and special needs to lead resilient and fulfilling lives.  We specialize in contemporary, evidence based applied behavior analysis to deliver personalized treatment plans, backed by 20 years of clinical insights.  We are proud to be a part of each family’s journey and share in the experience of finding success for every child, and family, in our care.  If you share a similar passion for nurturing and empowering the success of others, along with the opportunity to have an impact on the lives of others, we are eager to connect with you!

LEARN Behavioral hiring an Executive Director of Advocacy

Every day, families across the country are waiting — for a payor approval, for a regulatory fix, for someone in the room who understands both the policy and the child behind it. At LEARN Behavioral, we believe every autistic individual deserves access to the care that helps them thrive, and we're looking for an individual to lead our Advocacy efforts and help make that a reality in every community we serve.

This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of mission and policy — shaping the legislative and regulatory landscape for autism services while serving as a trusted voice for one of the country's leading providers of ABA and autism care.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking an individual who is excited to develop and execute plans that drive meaningful, lasting impact across the organization and the field.

As the leader of LEARN’s advocacy efforts, you will lead the company efforts to improve access to care for autistic individuals — especially clients covered by Medicaid — in partnership with executive management, local leadership, and third-party lobbyists. You'll work hand-in-hand with regional leaders to advance legislative and regulatory reforms that support our mission and business goals, and you'll serve as LEARN's primary point of contact with national and regional industry associations.

What You Have

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in advocacy, government relations, public policy, or a closely related field. Preference for individuals with direct experience in the field of ABA.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex policy issues into actionable advocacy strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders — from clinicians to legislators to payors.
  • A track record of working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines at once.
  • Willingness to travel to represent LEARN in key markets and forums.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and implement advocacy initiatives in key markets alongside internal stakeholders, with a particular focus on Medicaid programs.
  • Partner with local leadership to weave advocacy priorities into broader business strategy and objectives.
  • Track and report on legislation and regulations that could affect access to care, keeping the organization ahead of change rather than reacting to it.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key external stakeholders — legislators, regulators, payors, and industry partners.
  • Represent LEARN at relevant forums, conferences, and events, serving as a visible and credible voice for the field.
  • Keep executive management informed on developments that could impact the organization.
  • Partner with Payor relations and RCM team on reimbursement related issues
  • Liaise with key industry groups

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. In order to perform this position adequately, the individual must be able to carry out the following essential physical requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential physical requirements.

  • Communication: Can communicate expressively and receptively, verbally and in writing.
  • Problem Sensitivity: The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing that there is a problem.

LEARN Behavioral is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Candidates must be presently eligible to work in the United States.
