Description

Pikes Peak State College is located at the foot of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado. PPSC offers broad programs in transfer, occupational, and preparatory subjects emphasizing student and community needs. Colorado Springs is a great city to both work and live.

NOTE: This full-time position will work Monday through Friday, 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with varying hours and days off, depending on the business needs of the college. This position will be required to work at other Pikes Peak State College Campuses. You must be willing to accept working at various locations and working varying hours as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience Only:Six (6) months of custodial experience as the primary function of the job. Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor. Explain use and care of equipment used in detail on your application. Applicant must be willing to work different shifts (day and/or night), including holidays if necessary. Must provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Application must clearly detail the extent of these qualifications. (Part-time experience will be pro-rated)
Necessary Special Requirements: Must possess a current, valid Colorado driver's license in order to drive campus vehicles. Must submit to and successfully complete a pre-employment background check to include a motor vehicle report (MVR) as a condition of hire. Must be willing to work before or after normal business hours if requested and overtime as needed. Felony convictions or conviction of crimes of moral turpitude or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from consideration for this position. Should your background check reveal any charges and convictions, it is your responsibility to provide PPSC Office of Human Resources with an official disposition of the charges. An essential function of this position requires exertion of up to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge/experience in proper methods to strip and re-wax hard surface flooring. Knowledge of custodian chemicals and their use. Proper sanitation procedures for restrooms. Experience in hard floor and carpet maintenance. Experience operating floor scrubbers, carpet extractors, and floor buffers. Strong customer service skills. Effective communication skills (oral and written). Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks. Prior experience utilizing MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
