Intern, Artificial Intelligence Engineer - Part Time - Remote

***PART-TIME, TEMPORARY ROLE - 12-16 WEEKS - 12 HOURS PER WEEK***

Summary:  Under close supervision, the intern will assist in  developing, implementing, and deploying artificial intelligence (AI) models and systems that solve complex problems. Work will be performed at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and software engineering to build AI applications that can perform tasks such as natural language processing, genAI solutions and predictive analytics. 

 Key Responsibilities: “To simplify complexities for each customer.”   

 The intern may be involved in the following activities under the mentorship, guidance and supervision of the VP, Program Performance & Analytics and/or the AVP, Product Analytics and Business Strategy;  or delegate: 

1. Model Development: Design, develop, and implement AI models and algorithms to solve complex problems.
2. Data Processing: Clean, preprocess, and analyze large datasets to be used for training AI models.
3. Algorithm Selection: Select appropriate machine learning algorithms based on the problem being solved.
4. System Integration: Integrate AI models into existing systems or develop new systems to deploy AI solutions.
5. Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize AI models for accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
6. Research and Development: Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning and apply them to projects.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to develop AI solutions.
8. Documentation: Create detailed documentation for AI models, processes, and systems.
9. Deployment and Monitoring: Deploy AI models into production and monitor their performance over time.
10. Ethical Considerations: Ensure AI models are developed and deployed ethically, considering potential biases and fairness.

Qualifications/Education/Certifications:      

Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university; preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or Business including Economics, Administration,  Management or IT, for example.  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:                  

Any experience in the following is a plus, but not required:  

• Experience working with Gen AI/ML models and developing API’s, SDK’s and applications that utilize AI/ML. 

• Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation(RAG) based solutions. 

• Demonstrated experience with NLP techniques, Prompt Engineering, and a strong understanding of LLMs. 

• Strong programming skills in Python 

• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles. 

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. 

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 

• Knowledge of ethical considerations in AI.
