Who Does This Role Report Into? Associate Director - Sustainability
Role Summary / Purpose and Scope
Own and drive sustainability across a portfolio of client assets, working in partnership with clients, investors and MAPP Property Management teams to identify, prioritise and deliver opportunities that enhance asset performance, resilience and provide long-term value.
Skills, Knowledge and Values
- Provide clear, commercially aware sustainability advice, translating requirements, data and trends into practical asset-level recommendations.
- Support clients in reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions and operational costs and in progressing towards net zero.
- Experience with carbon emissions management and reporting, including Scope 1, 2 and 3, and relevant frameworks such as GRESB, CDP, ESOS, GHG Protocol and Science Based Targets.
- Support clients with evolving sustainability and compliance requirements, including climate risk, energy performance, net zero transition and investor reporting.
- Work with MAPP property and site teams, occupiers, suppliers and contractors to implement initiatives and improve sustainability data, reporting and performance.
- Support portfolio submissions, building certifications, new business pitches and the development of MAPP’s sustainability and social value services.
- Support clients in responding to the evolving sustainability and compliance landscape, including energy performance expectations, net zero transition planning, occupier engagement, climate resilience, responsible procurement and investor reporting requirements across managed assets.
- Take ownership, manage priorities effectively, embrace change and technology, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Support the team with new business pitching to clients and responding to bids.
- Engage with stakeholders across MAPP’s supply chain and our clients’ organisations, working with suppliers, contractors and managing agents to embed sustainability into procurement, service delivery and site operations.
- Monitoring statutory and internal compliance, including meeting MAPP policies and procedures, RICS and ISO standards and any statutory timelines and escalation requirements

Experience and Salary
- Minimum 3 years of ESG, Sustainability and Social Value roles
- Experience of working in the Real Estate or Facilities Management sector would be desirable
- Experience supporting energy management, metering strategies, audits, decarbonisation plans, renewable energy opportunities, operational efficiency measures or net zero pathway delivery would be advantageous.
- A good working knowledge of ESG reporting, investor disclosure and sustainability performance frameworks relevant to real estate portfolios would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting or coordinating building-level sustainability certifications and assessments such as BREEAM, Fitwel, WELL, NABERS UK, EPC improvement planning or equivalent asset-level schemes would be advantageous.
- A degree in a relevant discipline (environment, sustainability or energy-related subjects would be an advantage.
Salary Range (Based on Experience)
£45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
