Description
Are you ready to lead production with a hands-on approach?
In this role, you will coordinate daily execution to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets. You will develop supervisors and shop-floor teams while building accountability, collaboration, and a strong safety culture. You will remove bottlenecks, improve production flow, and support new equipment, technologies, products, and processes. Join us in Vespasiano and help turn continuous improvement into stable, reliable results.
Your responsibilities
- Lead and develop production supervisors and shop-floor teams, strengthening accountability, collaboration, competence, engagement, and safety.
- Ensure daily production follows the production plan, customer priorities, and agreed lead times. Manage capacity, workforce allocation, shifts, and resource use.
- Monitor and improve HSE, quality, delivery, productivity, cost, and efficiency KPIs. Identify bottlenecks and coordinate corrective actions for stable flow and reliable delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement through waste reduction, standardization, and productivity initiatives. Support the ramp-up of new equipment, technologies, products, and production processes.
- Partner with Planning & Logistics, Quality, Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, HSE, and HR to solve operational issues. Ensure compliance with Valmet standards, procedures, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Expectations for you
- You have a completed university degree, preferably in Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- You bring management experience from industrial environments.
- You have strong people leadership and production management skills, with a hands-on approach.
- You use analytical and problem-solving skills and work effectively across functions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- You are available to work on-site in Vespasiano.
- English proficiency is desirable.
To succeed in this role
You will combine clear people leadership with disciplined production management. You will use data and practical problem-solving to balance safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and efficiency. Success also depends on close cross-functional collaboration and a steady focus on employee development, standardization, and continuous improvement.
We also expect you to align with Valmet’s Leadership Principles—practical behaviours that guide how we lead, collaborate, and succeed together:
- Take accountability – Act with ownership, set clear expectations, and follow through
- Lead with courage – Champion change, try bold ideas, and learn quickly
