Location: Adkins, TX 78101
Employment Type: Full-time, W-2, on-site
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 a.m.-5:45 p.m.
Pay: $30 per hour
Reports To: Operations Manager / Production Manager
Language Requirement: Bilingual English/Spanish

Position Summary
The Senior Production Lead is responsible for coordinating daily production across the Fabrication, Welding, and Paint departments.
This position manages production priorities, staffing, project follow-up, workflow, quality, and communication between shop employees and management. The ideal candidate has strong welding and fabrication knowledge, proven leadership experience, and the ability to keep multiple projects moving under pressure.
The candidate must be bilingual in English and Spanish and able to communicate professionally in both languages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily shop production activities.
- Schedule and prioritize projects based on deadlines, workload, materials, and available manpower.
- Ensure projects move efficiently through Cutting, Fabrication, Welding, Assembly, Paint, and Shipping.
- Monitor project status, productivity, quality, rework, and work in process.
- Identify and resolve production bottlenecks, delays, and workflow problems.
- Reallocate employees between departments as production needs change.
- Communicate priorities and performance expectations clearly to the team.
- Hold employees accountable for productivity, quality, attendance, safety, and workplace conduct.
- Train, coach, and support the development of production employees and department leads.
- Help resolve conflicts and maintain professional communication across departments.
- Verify that work meets drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Report project progress, risks, delays, and corrective actions to management.
- Support continuous improvement, workplace organization, and safe work practices.
- Maintain productivity without compromising quality or safety.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Production Lead, Production Supervisor, Shop Lead, Shop Supervisor, or similar role.
- Proven leadership experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a related production environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of welding processes, including GMAW and FCAW-G.
- Working knowledge of fabrication, fit-up, assembly, and production workflow.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Working knowledge of industrial Paint department workflow, including surface preparation, wet paint, powder coating, and quality inspection.
- Ability to identify welding defects, production problems, and quality concerns.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities under pressure.
- Ability to lead employees firmly, professionally, and respectfully.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and accountability.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising Fabrication, Welding, and Paint departments.
- Experience with production scheduling and project tracking.
- Experience improving workflow and reducing delays or rework.
- Experience training and developing production employees.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and move throughout production areas.
- Work takes place in an active metal fabrication facility with heat, sparks, dust, noise, industrial coatings, machinery, and heavy equipment.
- Required PPE must be worn, and all safety procedures must be followed.
Work Environment
This position works inside a metal fabrication and manufacturing facility. Employees may be exposed to heat, sparks, dust, noise, and heavy equipment. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
