Job Description
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Lead by example within the assigned functional area, offering guidance and support to peers, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth production operations.
- Actively support production activities, stepping in during shifts or breaks to maintain workflow and operational continuity.
- Collaborate with plant administration to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures, promoting consistency and operational compliance.
- Assist Plant leadership in enforcing policies and procedures to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure operational efficiency.
- Act as the subject matter expert for specialized areas, such as forklift operations, pallet sorting, or repair lines, providing expertise and ensuring best practices are followed.
- Fulfill assigned production duties, ensuring quality and efficiency in line with plant performance goals.
Production Supervisor
Salary:£29,458.11 + 20% Shift Allowance = £35,349.73
Shifts: Double Days, Mon–Fri (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm, weekly rotation - currently the role is only working 6am-2pm)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Asda Import Centre, Dabholm Rd, Middlesbrough, TS6 7RU (commutable from Stockton, Redcar, Hartlepool, Darlington, Sunderland & surrounding areas)
CHEP is looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor (internally known as Production Lead) to join our on-site team at Asda DC in Teesport. You’ll lead a small team, drive safety and quality, and develop your leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
This role would suit candidates who are new into their career of first line leading and wanting to develop and grow your skills in a company.

🔧 What you’ll do
- Lead and coach a small team of operatives
- Drive safety, quality, and production KPIs
- Champion continuous improvement using data
- Manage shift briefs, absence, and holiday planning
- Collaborate with third-party site teams
- Deputise for the Site Lead when needed
🎯 What we’re looking for
- 2+ years in production, manufacturing, or logistics
- Experience with lean/CI and quality standards
- Organised, proactive, and a natural problem solver
- Confident communicator with leadership potential
- Comfortable using MS Office
