Senior Pharmacy Technician
Princess Margaret Hospital
30 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to £33,000.00 FTE per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.
This is a part time role for 30 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Provide a high standard of technical support in the preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines across inpatient, outpatient, and theatre areas.
- Support ward-based services such as stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and discharge preparation.
- Oversee the daily work of pharmacy technicians, assistants, and trainees, supporting task allocation and workflow management.
- Act as a role model and first point of contact for technical queries and day-to-day problem solving.
- Lead on stock control, ordering, and inventory systems to ensure continuous availability of medications.
- Monitor expiry dates, manage medicine shortages, and ensure appropriate stock rotation.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Significant experience in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of medicines management, stock control, and technical pharmacy services.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior staff effectively.
