IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems for buildings and other structures while gaining hands-on experience alongside experienced engineers and consultants.
You'll support project work that stays aligned with budget, coordinates across disciplines, and documents progress throughout the design process. You'll also contribute to work across commercial and institutional markets while contributing to sustainable design goals including SE2050.

What You'll Do
- Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
- Research project resources and supporting information
- Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation
- Coordinate design and schedule needs with other disciplines and suppliers
- Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress
- Review project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
- Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
- Conduct periodic job site observations and other services as required by the contract services agreement
What You'll Bring
Required Education and Experience
- Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong interest in design consulting
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Preferred
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

State of Nevada Pay Range: $22.00 –$24.00 per hour
The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
