Description

Role Summary:

Reporting to the IIS – GU Franchise Lead, the person in this role will lead forecasting and strategy efforts for PADCEV by providing unbiased, objective, in-depth forecasts and insights to inform business strategies and decisions.

The Director is a strategic thought partner to cross-functional leadership teams, including the Brand/Marketing Team, Medical Affairs, Oncology Commercial Analytics, Finance, Global Access and Value, and others. Through patient-based forecast models, competitive intelligence, and integrated primary and secondary analysis, she/he will identify business questions, develop and communicate appropriate and relevant forecasts and scenario analyses, and embed an external market and customer point-of-view to drive strategic direction of brand business and lifecycle management.

This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to our business. The successful candidate will join Insights & Strategy colleagues that are constantly driving the business through proactive thought leadership, innovative analytic and AI-enabled capabilities, and the ability to influence and communicate complex and dynamic information in new and creative ways.

Key Responsibilities:

Role definition and key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Forecasting & Strategy (Primary)

  • Lead the development and communication of PADCEV US patient-based demand forecasts across indications and lines of therapy to inform short- and long-term asset and business unit planning, including latest-estimate cycles.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership to balance corporate goals with insights-based market opportunity, through multi-disciplinary analysis of primary and secondary data, to develop indication and line of therapy-based patient forecasts.
  • Develop forecast scenarios and risk/opportunity assessments reflecting key clinical and commercial events (e.g., data readouts, label changes, competitive entries, access dynamics) to support brand planning and investment decisions.
  • Align with cross-functional Finance, Commercial, Access, and Global colleagues to ensure alignment on brand opportunity and forecast assumptions.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Brand/Marketing Team and cross-functional leadership teams, providing a holistic, objective, and analytical viewpoint of market opportunities and dynamics.
  • Lead the annual Situational Analysis process with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Present insights and forecasts to senior leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that influence and shape brand strategy and investment decisions.

Brand Insights (Secondary)

  • Drive strategic thinking and serve as an insights leader to Commercial stakeholders by answering key business questions to define commercial strategies and tactics and drive investment decisions.
  • Conduct ongoing brand performance tracking, including post-launch assessments, to ensure that the brand strategy remains aligned with market dynamics and evolving customer needs.
  • Own the competitive landscape assessment for PADCEV and the broader GU oncology and ADC space, including pipeline monitoring, data readout interpretation, and congress intelligence.
  • Convert competitive events into explicit forecast and strategy implications — sizing threats and opportunities rather than reporting activity — and drive scenario planning ahead of anticipated competitive milestones.

Insights Modernization Through AI (Secondary)

  • Champion the adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows to modernize forecasting, competitive monitoring, and insights synthesis, reducing cycle time and expanding analytic coverage.
  • Pilot, validate, and scale AI-driven approaches with appropriate human oversight, ensuring outputs are verified before informing decisions and that use complies with Pfizer's responsible AI standards.
  • Build repeatable, automated processes that elevate the team from production work toward interpretation and strategic guidance.

Market Research (Supporting)

  • Identify business questions where primary market research is the right tool; scope, commission, and manage qualitative and quantitative studies in partnership with Market Research Insights colleagues and vendors.
  • Integrate primary research findings with secondary data (e.g., patient claims, EMR, sales, payer information) and forecast assumptions to deliver one comprehensive, triangulated point of view.
  • Ensure primary market research is deployed selectively and sequenced appropriately — leveraging existing knowledge and secondary sources first to maximize business impact per research dollar.

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure all research and analytics activities comply with Pfizer's internal guidelines, as well as industry regulations and legal requirements. Collaborate with legal, compliance, and pharmacovigilance teams as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of research and forecast assumptions to ensure transparency and audit readiness.

Vendor and Resource Management

  • Actively seek new and innovative forecasting, competitive intelligence, and research methodologies and capabilities to maximize business impact, expand our offerings, and elevate the function to best-in-class.
  • Coordinate CI vendor engagements and cross-functional intelligence gathering to maintain a current, decision-ready view of the competitive environment.
  • Manage and prioritize brand insights budget, timelines, and resources, including identifying innovative solutions to champion cost savings without compromising analytic quality.
  • Be accountable for continuous improvement, as well as the identification/utilization of new capabilities to maximize the competitive advantages of the business.
  • Accountable for meeting compliance and Corporate SOP obligations of all Primary Market Research projects.

Required Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional experience with a BA/BS degree, or 7+ years with an MBA/MS degree, with preference in analytics and/or consulting roles.
  • Extensive experience building, communicating, and defending patient-based oncology forecasts using secondary data sources (e.g., patient claims, EMR, sales, payer information); working knowledge of quantitative and qualitative primary market research methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) required. Master's degree preferred (in marketing, analytics, market research or related field preferred but not required).
  • Demonstrated analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills.
  • Understanding of drug pharmaceutical development and commercialization process, as well as industry competitive dynamics.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities under ambiguity and uncertainty, and act without having the total picture; outstanding project, budget and vendor management skills, and ability to solve operational problems.
  • Demonstrated success defining business information and insight needs and translating those to specific deliverables; understanding of biopharmaceutical commercial market data sources.
  • Ability to assess and direct vendor technical capabilities and manage risks in the analytic process.
  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize multiple demands, deal with ambiguity, and lead teams through complex and challenging cross-functional projects.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, and pharma industry guidelines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort with senior management and knowledge of senior management thought processes; ability to speak their language and address their needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals industry experience.
  • Prior Oncology knowledge and experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI tools to accomplish work objectives, including the judgment to evaluate, verify, and responsibly apply AI-generated outputs in decision-making.
  • Proven ability to act as a strategic partner with the capacity to quickly establish relationships of trust, credibility, and be seen as a driving partner to commercial clients.

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
