Instructional Designer
Learning & Development
Senior Manager, Learning & Development
Payroc is a global payments technology company helping businesses get paid, grow faster, and operate smarter. From powerful POS systems to seamless online and mobile payment solutions, we equip merchants with the tools they need to succeed in today's fast-moving commerce landscape.
The Learning & Development Instructional Designer (ID) leads the design, development, and optimization of Payroc's educational experiences — such as eLearning, microlearning, video-on-demand, and blended instructor-led programs — to bridge performance gaps and improve business outcomes across Payroc's enterprise functions, POS, and payment-processing ecosystem.
- Learning Strategy, Consulting, and Program Ownership
- Consults with business leaders and stakeholders to identify performance gaps, clarify business needs, and determine the appropriate solution (training, performance support, communications, job aids, process reinforcement, etc.).
- Applies adult learning principles and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to ensure learning solutions are effective, scalable, and results-driven.
- Leads cross-functional learning initiatives from intake through launch, including scope definition, timelines/SLAs, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and delivery coordination.
- Defines success measures and evaluation plans (e.g., error reduction, CSAT improvement, compliance completion, reduction of rework loops) and uses results to recommend and implement continuous improvements.
- Independently develops rollout strategies (pilot, phased, enterprise) and recommends reinforcement tactics to sustain behavior change and adoption.
- Identifies opportunities for process and/or policy improvements that increase enablement effectiveness and operational execution; makes recommendations and supports implementation with key partners.
- Instructional Design, Content Standards, and Enablement
- Designs and develops learning assets and branded materials that enable consistent delivery and learner experiences across audiences (facilitation guides, presentations, job aids, eLearning, microlearning, videos, scenario-based practice, and other performance support tools).
- Establishes and maintains content standards for structure, tone, branding, accessibility, and learner experience; ensures materials meet standards prior to release.
- Partners with SMEs to validate accuracy and relevance; translates technical/process content into practical, role-based learning experiences.
- Facilitation Oversight and Delivery
- Facilitates and/or produces select virtual and in-person sessions as needed to support program outcomes and implementation needs.
- Oversees facilitators delivering L&D-developed programs by providing standardized materials, readiness guidance, coaching, and feedback mechanisms to ensure quality and consistency.
- Learning Systems, Tools, and Optimization
- Maintains the LMS and learning resources to ensure accuracy, accessibility, version control, and effective learner navigation; monitors completion data and supports reporting needs.
- Participates in evaluation and selection of departmental learning tools by gathering requirements, assessing options, supporting pilots, and making recommendations.
- Stakeholder Partnership and Culture
- Serves as a liaison between Learning & Development and internal departments to ensure learning solutions align with operational needs and business direction.
- Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and learner engagement consistent with Payroc values.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Business, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate learning, instructional design, enablement, performance improvement, or training program management.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Strong capability in adult learning principles, instructional design methods, and evaluation practices tied to business metrics.
- Proficiency with LMS platforms and common learning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, or equivalents) and multimedia/content tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills.
