Description
Job Purpose
The role emphasizes on leadership across the non-teaching and administrative functions of the school, ensuring that it operates safely, efficiently, accountably and in accordance with the organization policies, Tanzanian legislation and relevant Government requirements.
The Administrator will work closely with the Headteacher, who is responsible for the educational and teaching program, and with relevant Government education authorities and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day administration and operations of the organization.
- Supervise administrative, support and non-teaching staff and promote high standards of professionalism and accountability.
- Ensure effective safeguarding, child protection, health, safety and welfare systems.
- Manage facilities, equipment, transport, security, maintenance and other operational requirements.
- Support preparation and management of budgets and ensure responsible use of financial and organizational resources.
- Oversee appropriate procurement, financial controls and asset management.
- Maintain effective relationships with Government authorities, parents, communities, donors and development partners.
- Support fundraising, partnership development and initiatives to strengthen the long-term sustainability of the organization
- Contribute to strategic planning, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Provide effective communication and coordination between, the Headteacher, Territorial leadership and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Development Studies or another relevant field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience managing staff, organizational operations and resources.
- Experience managing budgets and administrative systems.
- Experience working with children, vulnerable people, communities or social services.
