POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing referral business in an assigned territory by building strong relationships with referral partners and clients. The role manages the sales process from initial contact through funding, achieves sales targets, and supports individual, team, and organizational revenue objectives.
MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE
Key accountabilities of this position include:
Achieves sales targets through effective territory planning, business development, and referral relationship management.
Generates revenue by executing sales plans and identifying new business opportunities.
Manages the sales process from client engagement through funding to support a positive customer experience.
Builds and maintains referral-producing relationships through regular contact, presentations, webinars, and partner visits.
Uses Salesforce and other tools to manage relationships, pipelines, reporting, and forecasting.
Maintains strong knowledge of HomeEquity Bank products, competitors, market trends, and industry conditions.
Customizes approved sales programs and presentations for partners and customers in the assigned territory.
Collaborates with internal partners to support sales initiatives, resolve issues, and deliver strong service.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in business, finance, sales, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in financial services sales or business development.
Experience in business development, territory management, wealth management, investments, insurance, or financial planning is preferred.
Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets in a performance-based sales environment.
Experience utilizing CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce, to manage relationships and sales pipelines.

WORKING CONDITIONS UNIQUE TO JOB
Frequent territory travel for business development and partner meetings.
Regular virtual presentations, webinars, and client meetings.
Home-office based role supporting the Vancouver market.
Some flexibility in working hours may be required to support business needs and partner events.
