ROBOTIC WELDER – 2ND SHIFT
Mon-Thurs 4:25pm - 2:55am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials on robotic welder as required
- Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface table and hand tools.
- Develops robotic path and motion to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Operates welding robot on trial runs to verify accuracy of machine settings and programmed control data.
- Performs basic MIG and TIG welding techniques as needed.
- Assist engineering in the design and configuration of parts to utilize the robotic welder.
- Reads job specifications (e.g. blueprints, quality control plans and/or traveler notes) to determine type of welding and material requirements.
- Examines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans and/or traveler notes using instruments such as gauges.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Experienced welder.
- Skilled blueprint reader.
- Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools including grinders and cut off wheels to measuring instruments such as a tape measure and gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School degree, diploma or a general education degree (GED);
- Certificate or degree in welding;
- 1 – 2 years robotic welding experience;
- 3 plus years of MIG and TIG welding experience;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
