Human Resource Generalist

Description

As a key member of the Human Resources team, the HR generalist supports day-to-day HR operations of the organization and serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers. This role is responsible for employee relations, recruiting and onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, leave management, compliance, training and HR policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is an approachable HR professional who can work independently, build strong relationships across the organization, and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and confidentiality. 

Essential Functions:

• Serves as a primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, employee concerns, and general HR questions. 
• Partner with supervisors and managers to address employees’ issues and provide HR guidance. 
• Administers and communicates HR policies consistently and assists with guidance on policy updates. 
• Process and review payroll accurately and timely.
• Manager and maintain employee benefits enrollments through the benefit portal. 
• Assist employees with benefit elections, changes, and questions.
• Support open enrollment activities. 
• Coordinate with benefit carriers and vendors regarding eligibility and employee claim issues. 
• Support the administration of Paylocity HRIS by maintaining employee records, assisting with recruiting and onboarding workflows, processing payroll and benefits transactions, and generating HR reports as needed. 
• Administer and track Family and Medical Leave Act requests while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company leave policies. 
• Monitor employee leave status and return-to-work processes. 
• Assist with HR audits, reporting, and documentation. 
• Manage workplace injury reporting and documentation. 
• Monitor employee work status reports and restrictions. 
• Assists with employee engagement, retention, recognition, and culture initiatives. 
• Highly skilled at both creating and maintaining valuable relationships, both internal and external to the organization 
• Serves as the communication function of the organization, on behalf of leadership. 
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administrations, or related field preferred. 
• 3-5 years of experience in HR generalist role.  
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments. 
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization. 
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results – orientation 
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) 
• Knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS platforms. 
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
