As an Advanced Practice Provider on our Safe and Healthy Families team, you will use your pediatric expertise to help protect children and guide appropriate, evidence-based care in child abuse and neglect cases.

About Safe and Healthy Families

Safe and Healthy Families is a multidisciplinary program that provides medical and mental health services to children with suspected abuse or neglect and to their families across the Intermountain West. Guided by Primary Children’s Hospital’s philosophy, “The Child First and Always,” our team brings together child abuse pediatricians, advanced practice providers, child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and therapists to evaluate and manage the needs of children affected by abuse and trauma.

About this role:

This Advanced Practice Provider will be a vital member of our team based at Primary Children’s Hospital Miller Family Campus in Lehi, Utah. You will provide care at Primary Children’s Lehi campus in the Safe and Healthy Families Outpatient Clinic. You will have support from the child abuse medicine physicians located at our Salt Lake City campus.

After extensive orientation and training in assessing and treating child abuse, the APP will provide care in the outpatient settings. In clinic, you will see child abuse and neglect patients when they are appropriately triaged to a lower level of care instead of presenting to the Miller Campus ED. Patients who need follow-up exams/labs/imaging after an ED visit or inpatient stay will also be seen in clinic.

Schedule

• Part-time schedule, you’ll average 20 hours per week.
• Initial training may take place at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

What You’ll Bring

• Current Utah licensure as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or the ability to obtain licensure before starting employment.
• Current national board certification as a Pediatric or Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Utah controlled-substance license.
• Federal DEA Registration Schedules II–V.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers
• Preferred: Prior pediatric APP experience

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$57.33 - $88.47
