Description
The Analyst works directly with academic and administrative staff across campus to support continuous improvement projects, maintain platform data quality, and monitor departmental progress updates. By tracking metrics across Adoption, Alignment, Execution, and Organizational Effectiveness, the Analyst ensures reliable data collection and delivers clear operational reporting to support team decision-making.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process Mapping & Operational Support
Assist departments in documenting current business outcomes, administrative workflows, and operational steps using standard process-mapping tools.
Operational Gap Identification: Help review departmental outcomes alongside the Manager to identify opportunities for lead measure development.
Support the rollout of basic process enhancements, tracking action items and helping staff adopt streamlined operational procedures.
Serve as a reliable point of contact for departmental staff regarding routine updates and alignment exercises.
- Performance Data Tracking & AuditingCollect, organize, and track operational metrics across four core measurement categories:
Adoption Tracking: Monitor reporting submission rates, log departmental participation, and flag units needing assistance with enterprise software tools.
Alignment Data Reviews: Review submitted departmental goals and project metrics to confirm they link appropriately to university objectives and reporting standards.
Execution Monitoring: Track milestone deadlines and progress status for active departmental initiatives, helping identify delayed projects.
Basic Effectiveness Reporting: Organize raw operational and survey data into clean spreadsheets and standard summary reports for team review.
- Platform Data Quality & Reporting Compliance
System Data Validation: Perform routine data quality checks across strategic planning platforms to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Track reporting deadlines, issue standard progress reminders, and follow up with departmental Points of Contact (PoCs) to collect quarterly updates.
Functional System Support: Assist with routine platform maintenance, such as updating user access, organizing reporting, and maintaining data documentation.
- User Support & Training Assistance
Provide friendly, technical helpdesk-style support to campus staff using the strategic planning and process system.
Help create simple user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quick-reference sheets, and system walkthroughs.
Maintain consistent, clear communication with departmental contacts regarding data collection windows, template instructions, and upcoming review cycles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.
- 1-2 years of experience with academics preferred.
- Experience using MS Excel and Information Systems.
- Experience using pivot tables, graphs and charts, VLOOKUP and other Excel functions.
- Ability to attain an understanding of technical systems that support the assigned business unit in an effort to provide reporting and subject matter recommendations and support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data management.
- Experience in project management or process improvement is a plus.
- Knowledge of academic policies and procedures within higher education institutions is an advantage.

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.
Driving Requirements
If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Pay Range
Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. Market benchmarks may be used, as appropriate, in combination with internal equity to ensure pay is fair and aligned with the broader compensation structure.
The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.
