SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and appearance of the facility, outside grounds, security, material handling and food processing equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct daily or weekly facility walkthroughs to identify safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or structural issues.
· Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring.
· Complete general building maintenance which may include light carpentry, dry wall patching, painting, lock repairs, dock repair and maintenance of material handling equipment and production equipment.
· Prioritize, track, and complete assigned maintenance tasks.
· Maintain all tools and equipment in a clean, safe, working order.
· Assist in overseeing outside contractors and maintain an inventory of necessary repair parts and supplies.
· Preserve technical skills and required certifications to perform job duties.
· Adhere to all safety requirements and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment required by the job.
· Respond promptly to urgent building or equipment issues, occasionally during off-hours
· Report possible safety issues and recommend appropriate changes.
· Comply with OSHA, HAACP, and other local, state, and federal regulations.
· Sustain a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, vendors and co-workers.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma, GED, or completion of a relevant trade/vocational program.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Proficiency with power/hand tools, blueprint reading, and building maintenance software.
· Ability to disassemble and assemble all parts of machines and support equipment according to the manufacturer's specifications.
· Working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
· Certifications such as an EPA Universal/Type II (for HVAC) are highly preferred
· Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment in facility.
· Be able to read basic electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
· Knowledge of boiler function and operation.
· 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, carpentry, or mechanical repair.
· Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform strenuous tasks in various environmental conditions.
· Must have own vehicle and valid driver's license.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Ability to move/lift up to 75 lbs.
· Ability to withstand cool/cold temperatures in a typical food warehouse environment
· Position spends 6 – 8 hours standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing
· Indoor and outdoor work and element exposure
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
