P6Job Summary:
This position is responsible for leading and influencing functional teams across Tyson to manage capital project execution across the poultry network. This role provides strategic leadership for large-scale facility expansions, equipment installations, capacity additions, automation initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, and other capital investments that support growth, operational reliability, food safety, quality, and cost improvement objectives. This position conducts thorough analysis of project scope, business case alignment, capital requirements, execution risk, resource needs, schedule performance, and return on investment, and presents recommendations and status updates to senior leaders of the company. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, R&D, FSQA, Supply Chain, external engineering firms, contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure capital projects are properly planned, resourced, governed, executed, and sustained. This position serves as a subject matter expert for capital planning, project governance, systems and process integration, risk assessment and mitigation, startup readiness, and special projects as assigned. This position has responsibility for all aspects of capital project management, including project prioritization, scope development, budget ownership, timeline management, change management, performance oversight, and accountability for successful project delivery.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field e.g. engineering, construction management, supply chain, business administration, or operations management
Work Experience:
15 plus years of progressive experience in capital project management, engineering, food manufacturing, operations, or consumer packaged goods.
Special Job Competencies: Must have in-depth knowledge of capital project execution, engineering project governance, construction or installation planning, operations readiness, FSQA requirements, and financial controls. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to have an impact in this role, as is broad knowledge of operational policies, processes, procedures, and capital approval workflows. An understanding of complex legal, contract, safety, financial, engineering, and risk management concepts is also required. Relationship-building and the ability to influence across functions are absolutely critical to success.
