Job Title: Logistics Coordinator (Truck Scheduler)
Department: US SCM Team
Shift: Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 10am-7pm
Direct Report: Operation Unit Manager
Type: Non-Exempt; Full-time
About the position
We are looking for a reliable Logistics Coordinator to coordinate trailer activity from drop-off through pickup. This position maintains accurate trailer inventory, schedules and assigns trailers to shipments based on planned shipments, communicates with drivers and carriers, and prepares shipping documents, including bills of lading. The coordinator works closely with regional distribution centers, yard personnel, carriers, and transportation carriers to keep shipping operations safe, accurate, and on schedule to ensure there are no disruptions to SCM (Supply Chain Management) department processes.
Responsibilities are:
- Perform all work safely and in accordance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Coordinate all trailer drop-offs, yard movements, loading schedules, and carrier pickups.
- Prepare daily truck assignments based on production and shipping plans, assigning trailers in SAP and promptly update trailer, shipment, and scheduling information as conditions change.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of trailers in the yard, including trailer number, carrier, location, status, condition, and availability through daily physical verifications at regular periods and reconcile discrepancies within SAP and spreadsheet records.
- Communicate frequently with truck drivers, shipping personnel, and carriers regarding arrivals, delays, schedule changes, trailer availability, loading status, and pickup readiness.
- Receive and assist drivers professionally, verify shipment and trailer information, provide pickup instructions, and address routine scheduling questions.
- Prepare, issue, and verify bills of lading and other required shipping documents before drivers depart the facility.
- Maintain accurate Excel spreadsheets, shipment logs, trailer reports, and related records; use formulas and functions to track and reconcile operational information.
- File loading and shipping documents and transfer archived records to the designated storage area in accordance with retention procedures.
- Work cooperatively with team members and other departments to resolve scheduling, inventory, and documentation issues.
- Support occasional weekend work schedules to support operational business needs.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements are:
Education:
- (Required) high school diploma or GED
- (Preferred) bachelor's degree; business administration / supply chain management major
Experience:
- (Required) Experience with MS Office Suite including proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- (Preferred) Previous experience in transportation, truck scheduling, shipping, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or a related field
- (Preferred) Experience with trailer-yard inventory, transportation management, warehouse management, or shipment scheduling systems; experience with ASAP is a plus
- (Preferred) previous experience in the manufacturing industry
Language:
- (Required) good command of written and spoken English

Physical Demands:
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
- Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
