The role of Senior Platform Engineers is to Design, Build, Run & Evolve tools, infrastructure, templates and capabilities that our other engineers use to deliver business value, and to write code that automates running our infrastructure and environments.

Public Cloud Container Services (PCCS) team manages the group's Kubernetes-based Platform as a Service (PaaS) on AWS, offering production ready, secure, and managed Kubernetes environment to deploy containerised applications and cloud-native resources.
To be successful in this role, some of the broad roles and responsibilities may include:
Collaborate with customer facing product engineers to design, build and run ‘platforms’ that will deliver customer value at greater velocity, and safety.
Maintain the underlying infrastructure to ensure it is reliable, secure and scalable. Where possible identify the opportunity to automate platform to serve as self-service.
Ensure our platforms are loved by our software engineers, and continually evolve to embrace new technology and improve efficiency of our software engineers.
Create a standardised set of tooling for deploying and running applications and setting them up with best practices
Write code to ensure that deployment and operations are automated, using languages such as python and go.
Participate in cross-group activities to build a culture of one team, bar-raising both our engineering capability and our technology solutions to drive our strategy.

Are familiar with the Full Cycle model, where engineers are involved in Design, Build, Challenge and Run
Have a passion for designing, developing, deploying and running high quality software and platforms.
Have a natural drive to educate, communicate and positively influence various stakeholder groups including high level executives.
We’re interested in hearing from people who possess the following:
Experience as Software Engineer/ DevOps/SRE/System Engineer in Cloud environment.
Experience with container technology: Docker and Kubernetes/EKS. cluster management, monitoring, autoscaling and networking.
Experience with programming in Golang or Python.Experience working with Infrastructure as Code(CloudFormation, Terraform, Pulumi)
Experience working with CI/CD (Codebuild, Github Actions, GitOps/ArgoCD)
Understanding of DevOps/SRE Best Practices: Logging, Monitoring, Security.
