We are seeking a talented individual to join our accounting team at Marsh. This role will be based in Pune. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office

 

Specialist – Fiduciary

 

We’re seeking for an individual who can manage end-to-end cash application for complex accounts, ensure accurate ERP postings, resolve exceptions within SLAs, support close activities, maintain compliance and audit readiness, drive process improvements, and guide junior team members. We will count on you to:

• Own end-to-end cash application for complex, high-volume, or strategic client accounts across multiple payment types (wire, ACH, lockbox, cheques)
• Post cash receipts (wire transfers, ACH, cheques, lockbox) accurately in ERP
• Investigate and resolve aged unapplied cash, short payments, and matching exceptions within agreed SLAs
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities including AR subledger reconciliation and variance commentary
• Ensure audit-ready documentation and adherence to SOX
• Prepare and review daily/weekly cash application dashboards and aging reports for Manager review
• Leverage tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, or Excel macros to improve reporting efficiency
• Act as first point of escalation for junior analysts on posting exceptions, ERP queries, and client-specific complexities
• Contribute to SOP development, updates, and knowledge base maintenance
• Train and onboard new team members on SOPs, ERP workflows, and client processes
• Provide backup coverage and redistribute workload during team member absences to ensure uninterrupted SLA delivery
• Support Manager in daily queue management and productivity monitoring
• Step in as the operational lead for the Cash Applications team when the Team Lead or Deputy Manager is unavailable
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for all cash posting transactions
• Adhere to internal controls, SOX compliance requirements, and standard operating procedures
• Participate in process improvement initiatives as directed
• Own end-to-end cash application for complex, high-volume, or strategic client accounts
• Investigate and resolve aged unapplied cash, short payments, and cross-currency matching exceptions
• Participate in ERP upgrades, system migrations, and process automation rollouts
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to resolve interdependencies

 

What you need to have: 

• Any relevant accounting degree
• 5-8 years of experience in accounting
• Prior experience in working in similar roles

• Prior shared services / GCC experience at MNC scale
• Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma frameworks for process improvement
