Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking Sr Principal Equipment Engineer to develop, procure and install high volume automated assembly, test equipment and tooling used in the production of our unique 3D cell architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Support AME of customized automation equipment including system design DFMEA, development, and commissioning.
- Work with supplier partners to optimize system design and performance
- Support manufacturing process scales up activities and production ramp
- Debug current issues, improve cycle times, yields, equipment uptime OEE APQ (Availability, Performance & Quality)
- Support escalation activities and troubleshoot production equipment and maintain the Availability goals set.
- Use equipment performance data to drive improvement projects by SCADA, TMS and Machine event logs.
- Initiate continuous improvement plans for existing equipment MTBA & MTBF as well as Safety compliances.
- Institute statistical process controls on applicable manufacturing equipment
Qualifications:
- MS/BS Degree Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- 5+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
- Familiarity with automation components and tools including PLCs, pneumatics, motors, digital and analog IO, temperature controllers, and reading mechanical and wiring diagram drawing.
- Desire to work in a dynamic, highly creative environment
