Position Summary

The Line Technician supports safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing operations by setting up, operating, monitoring, adjusting, and cleaning production-line equipment. The role performs in-process checks, documents production activities, responds to routine equipment issues, and works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse personnel to meet schedule, quality, safety, and output requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare the production line for start-up by verifying materials, components, tooling, machine settings, guards, labels, and required documentation.

• Operate and monitor assigned manufacturing and ancillary equipment in accordance with approved work instructions, standard operating procedures, and production specifications.

• Perform line clearance, changeover, set-up, cleaning, and sanitation activities as required for the process and product. • Complete in-process inspections, measurements, sampling, counts, and quality checks at the required frequency; identify and

report results outside established limits. • Accurately complete production records, equipment logs, checklists, downtime records, material usage documentation, and

electronic transactions as applicable. • Monitor equipment performance and product flow; make authorized adjustments and perform basic troubleshooting to

minimize waste and downtime. • Immediately stop or escalate operations when unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, contamination

risks, or documentation discrepancies are observed. • Coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering during repairs, preventive maintenance, trials, and process improvements, while

maintaining appropriate equipment status controls. • Handle, stage, identify, reconcile, and return materials according to established procedures; maintain traceability and prevent

mix-ups. • Meet production targets while protecting product quality and employee safety; communicate status, issues, priorities, and shift

handoffs clearly. • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area using established housekeeping and workplace organization

practices. • Participate in training, safety observations, investigations, corrective actions, continuous-improvement activities, and other

assigned production support tasks.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance Expectations

• Follow company safety rules, energy-control requirements, personal protective equipment requirements, and emergency procedures.

• Adhere to applicable Good Manufacturing Practices, hygiene requirements, contamination controls, approved procedures, and documentation standards.

• Protect product identity, quality, and traceability throughout the manufacturing process. • Report injuries, near misses, spills, deviations, nonconformances, and equipment concerns promptly through the established

escalation process. • Use only current, approved instructions and maintain accurate, legible, complete, and timely records.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate degree in industrial technology, mechanics, electronics, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, machine operation, or equipment maintenance preferred. • Ability to read and follow work instructions, specifications, safety information, production schedules, and equipment displays. • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use common hand tools, measuring devices, and production equipment safely. • Basic computer skills for production reporting, electronic documentation, training systems, or inventory transactions. • Ability to perform basic math, including counts, measurements, percentages, and production calculations. • Clear verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based, shift-driven environment. • Availability to work assigned shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment, production noise, temperature variations, and controlled process areas.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to bend, reach, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements as required by the assigned line.

• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials within the limits established by the company for the specific position and work area. • Required use of designated personal protective equipment and compliance with gowning, hygiene, hearing protection, or other

area-specific controls. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions, consistent with

applicable law.

• Safe work practices and timely reporting of hazards or events. • Adherence to procedures, specifications, training, and documentation requirements. • Quality of set-ups, changeovers, inspections, and production records. • Equipment uptime, schedule attainment, throughput, and waste reduction within the technician’s area of responsibility. • Effective communication, teamwork, attendance, reliability, and completion of assigned actions.
