Job Purpose:
Shaping the Future of Software Quality & Digital Testing at DBS
At DBS, we are pioneering the future of digital services through rigorous engineering excellence and quality assurance. Recognized globally for our digital leadership, we blend high-performance agility with the scale of a leading global bank. Our software testing and quality engineering teams are at the forefront of ensuring seamless, robust, reliable, and joyful digital banking experiences for millions of customers across Asia.
As part of the Regional Product Delivery team, we collaborate closely with key stakeholders across Technology and Product to deliver best-in-class digital solutions across multiple platforms, including Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Chatbot, PayLah!, and PWEB.
We provide insights and expertise, supported by strong domain knowledge, to design and deliver seamless banking journeys for new initiatives. One of the key responsibilities of our function is to ensure the end-to-end execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), using both manual and automation tools to deliver high-quality and timely outcomes before release to market.
As a Software Test Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for converting Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) test scenarios into automated test scripts across applicable digital platforms and product suites. You will collaborate closely with various application teams supporting our delivery model, particularly within an Agile environment.
You will also be expected to understand business requirements, design and author test cases, execute testing, identify and track defects, and ensure that high-quality products are delivered.
Responsibilities:
Advocate a strong quality culture within cross-functional teams and ensure testing best practices are consistently followed.
Design, develop, execute, and maintain test cases for Android and iOS applications, web applications, and REST APIs across different digital platforms.
Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium with Java, Appium with Java, Playwright with Java, and Pytest with Python.
Establish testing as an integral part of the software development lifecycle within cross-functional teams.
Develop maintainable and reusable automated tests in collaboration with development teams.
Proactively recommend improvements to testing tools, frameworks, and processes to improve test coverage, efficiency, and quality.
Detect, document, and report defects, and closely follow up on them to ensure timely resolution and closure.
Apply exploratory testing techniques to identify potential issues and improve overall product quality.
Continuously assess and identify opportunities to improve the quality, reliability, and performance of our applications and services.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in web and mobile banking solutions.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Appium, Selenium, Playwright (Java), Pytest (Python), and JUnit.
Solid understanding of modern test automation framework design and best practices.
Strong programming skills in Java, Objective-C, JavaScript, Python, or similar programming languages.
Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts.
Experience in developing complex SQL queries for data validation and testing.
Experience in REST API and web service testing. Knowledge of SoapUI or similar API testing tools would be an advantage.
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and commonly used UNIX commands.
Working knowledge of Git and Bitbucket or other source-control tools.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex business and technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive end-to-end test scenarios and test cases.
Good understanding of Agile methodologies and the software testing lifecycle across both manual and automated testing.
Experience working as part of an Agile project team, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
Experience with engineering and delivery tools such as Jira, Jenkins, and Docker.
Experience with one or more testing technologies or frameworks such as Cucumber, Appium, Selenium, Playwright, or Xcode UI Testing.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product, Technology, and other cross-functional teams.
