Join us on our mission to shape the future of our industry.
Cohesity's Professional Services team is looking for a hands-on automation architect who can design, build, and validate automated end-to-end deployment architectures that customers, partners, and internal teams can consistently implement. This role blends deep system design, automation engineering, customer engagement, field validation, and enablement. You will create scalable, code-driven blueprints, replace manual deployment practices with repeatable automation, and serve as the technical authority across automation, architecture, integration, and system design.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
Customer Engagement & Collaboration
- Deliver automation-led architecture and professional services to customers.
- Build strategic relationships with key customers and Cohesity teams.
- Partner with Product Solutions, engineering, SEs, tech marketing, and support to align product capabilities and APIs with customer automation requirements and ensure smooth knowledge transfer.
- Engage directly with customers to understand their operational workflows and map Cohesity's solutions and automation capabilities to their objectives.
Architecture & Delivery
- Design and validate automated deployment architectures, including sizing, performance, integrations, and migrations.
- Develop reusable automation assets such as Ansible playbooks, Python modules, workflow templates, and code-backed runbooks.
- Support deployment execution and ensure design fidelity across delivery teams and partners through standardized, version-controlled automation.
- Conduct field validation and beta testing of new automated procedures, including testing for idempotency, error handling, and rollback.
Practice Development & Enablement
- Convert automation designs into training content and deliver hands-on training to customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Create high-quality documentation, code repositories, and knowledge base articles.
- Continuously refine automation assets as new products, features, and API versions are released.
Process & Alignment
- Maintain JIRA user stories and an automation backlog to ensure alignment across product, engineering, and delivery teams.
System Design & Architecture
- Deep System Design: Build end-to-end automated architectures across services, applications, data stores, and integrations, producing implementation-ready diagrams, workflow definitions, and sequence flows.
- API & Integration Architecture: Design and consume REST APIs, JSON schemas, and integration patterns (sync/async, event-driven, webhooks, retries) to orchestrate workflows across Cohesity and third-party platforms.
- AuthN/AuthZ: Implement OAuth/JWT, RBAC, scopes, token flows, service accounts, and secure secrets handling for automated pipelines.
- Data Architecture: Design efficient SQL schemas and queries; understand NoSQL modeling and storage decisions for automation state, inventory, and reporting.
- Independent Technical Execution: Research new automation tools and technologies independently.
- Security Architecture: Apply security-by-design principles to automation, including least-privilege access, auditability of automated actions, and data protection.
WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MANY OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of professional IT experience, including significant time designing and delivering infrastructure or workflow automation.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, accelerate automation development, streamline workflows, and support decision making.
- Hands-on experience automating: Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix) Linux/Unix Oracle and SQL Storage platforms (Isilon, NetApp, Pure) Data protection, disaster recovery, data management Public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Expert proficiency in Python and Ansible; experience with ServiceNow workflow and orchestration, Git-based version control, and architecture tools such as Visio.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; strong ability to teach and enable others.
- Strong organization, project management, and deadline-driven execution
