Introduction to HoistSpar
HoistSpar is Hoist Finance’s retail savings brand, offering digital fixed-term deposit accounts to private individuals across seven European markets: Sweden, Germany, Spain, Austria, Ireland, the Netherlands and Poland. HoistSpar plays a central role in Hoist Finance's funding strategy and long-term growth. Deposits from the public are the company’s largest source of funding.
Operating under Hoist Finance’s Swedish credit market licence, HoistSpar serves customers across Europe through the freedom of services framework and is supervised by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.
Founded in Sweden in 2009, HoistSpar has since expanded to six additional European markets and today has a team of around 20 people in Stockholm. As part of this development, HoistSpar launched its proprietary platform in Germany in November 2025 and in Spain in March 2026. With plans for further expansion, HoistSpar is now entering an exciting new phase.
HoistSpar provides a straightforward savings experience with competitive interest rates through its own proprietary platforms and dedicated customer service teams in Sweden, Germany and Spain, and through a third-party provider in its remaining markets.
All deposits are protected by the Swedish Deposit Guarantee Scheme, administered by the Swedish National Debt Office (Riksgälden), covering up to SEK 1,150,000 per depositor.
The Role
This executive-level specialist role offers complete ownership of our banking platform across Sweden, Germany, and Spain. You will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap and optimizing the customer lifecycle in collaboration with IT experts and vendors. With full authority over platform architecture, APIs, and open banking solutions, you will ensure a robust and scalable infrastructure. By applying data-driven methodologies, you will continuously refine system performance and conversion metrics. Main responsibilities
- Own and develop HoistSpar's banking platform across all markets, ensuring stability, scalability and continuous improvement of core platform capabilities.
- Drive technical delivery of digital platform initiatives, with a clear focus on optimising customer onboarding flows, account management and the deposit product experience end-to-end.
- Manage and evolve platform architecture, ensuring integrations between core banking systems, front-end interfaces and third-party services are robust and well-maintained.
- Identify, evaluate and implement new integrations, APIs and technical solutions. Including open banking, payment solutions and third-party service providers.
- Use data and monitoring tools to guide platform decisions, analysing system performance, uptime, conversion flows and operational KPIs to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Take a hands-on role in delivery, while managing external vendors and technical specialists within platform engineering, integrations and infrastructure.
- Ensure platform configurations and technical implementations meet local regulatory and compliance requirements across all markets. Align with internal- and external parties across Legal & Compliance.
- Collaborate closely with IT, Compliance and Legal to translate business requirements into technical solutions within a regulated financial environment.
