Description
We are hiring for a Senior Account Manager - Life Sciences & Healthcare to join our Life Science & Healthcare team in London or Barcelona ( Hybrid ) . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional to take ownership of strategic customer relationships, drive account growth and identify high-value opportunities across an established customer portfolio.
Working closely with a defined book of business, you will develop and execute account strategies, manage senior customer relationships and proactively identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities. You will be responsible for understanding customer needs, presenting compelling solutions and managing opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial need identification through to solution development, negotiation and closing.
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
7+ years of relevant professional experience
5+ years of sales experience, ideally within Life Sciences, Healthcare, SaaS, data, software or information solutions
Proven experience managing complex customer relationships and driving account growth
Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and close upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Strong forecasting, pipeline management and account planning experience
Ability to understand customer needs and present innovative, compelling solutions
Experience working with senior stakeholders and collaborating across internal teams
It would be great if you also have....
A Life Science degree or strong knowledge of the Life Sciences/pharmaceutical industry
Experience selling software, data, analytics or information solutions into pharmaceutical, biotech or healthcare organisations
Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems
Experience managing strategic or enterprise-level accounts across Europe or EMEA
Strong understanding of sales cycles, negotiation processes and customer success principles
What will you be doing in this role?
Lead efforts to achieve and exceed sales goals by meeting targets and proactively identifying high-value upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Develop and execute strategic Account Plans in collaboration with the wider account team
Manage and oversee customer opportunities throughout the full sales cycle, from identifying customer needs through to solution development, presentation, quoting, negotiation and close
Build strong relationships with key customers and potential leads, while adhering to and refining established sales processes
Deeply understand customer needs and present innovative, relevant and compelling solutions to address their challenges
Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts to senior management through consistent and strategic communication
Continuously enhance your knowledge of Clarivate products and services to effectively position our solutions and drive customer success
Actively participate in high-level meetings and events, sharing strategic insights on customers, products and sales opportunities with the broader team
Maintain and exceed meeting volumes as established by Sales Management to ensure consistent engagement and productivity
Identify and target high-potential roles and stakeholders within existing customers to expand business opportunities and drive growth
Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure a strong customer experience and maximise account opportunities
About the Team
You will be working as part of a collaborative Life Sciences & Healthcare sales team, partnering closely with Account Managers, Renewal Account Managers, Customer Success Managers and wider commercial teams to support growth across the region. The team is focused on building strong customer relationships, delivering customer value and identifying opportunities to expand Clarivate’s solutions within existing accounts.
Hours of Work
This is a full-time permanent position based in London, UK and will require hybrid working in our Liverpool Street office, with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remainder of the week remote.
This position requires weekday, Monday to Friday, attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
