Trusted advice is built one honest conversation at a time and that's the kind of work you'll be doing here. As a Senior Account Manager at PwC, you'll bring your commercial acumen, relationship-building expertise, and strategic thinking to drive client-led growth across our Priority Client Program, based in Sydney / Gadigal. You'll partner directly with Lead Client Partners to shape account direction, unlock opportunities, and ensure our most important client relationships are supported with depth, discipline, and care.
Why PwC?
At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries like finance, technology, energy, and health - giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.
Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.
What you’ll do:
Partner with Lead Client Partners to shape the client's agenda, anticipate strategic needs, and proactively identify growth opportunities across service lines.
Own the development and execution of account plans, ensuring they translate into action with measurable results aligned to client priorities.
Drive consistent account disciplines by establishing and maintaining an effective operating rhythm of account governance, including meetings, agendas, decisions, and follow-through across complex, multi-stakeholder accounts.
Drive pipeline health, conversion, and cross-service line growth, leading pursuit of coordination on strategic opportunities.
Build and sustain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, including C-suite and procurement, to influence outcomes and shape long-term direction.
Lead commercial discussions, including rate cards, MSAs, RFPs, and contract negotiations, ensuring commercial discipline across the portfolio.
Maintain high-quality data and reporting on financial performance, forecasts, and contracts to inform LCP and account leadership decisions.
Leverage tools (Salesforce, iPower, PowerBI) and AI platforms to support account planning, client conversations, and surface strategic insight to shape account direction.
Coach and guide Account Managers and Senior Associates, setting clear expectations and driving accountability across the account team.
Build strong working relationships with connected team members, providing clear briefs and context, and expanding their contribution over time.
Collaborate with Clients and Markets teams to activate campaigns, events, and thought leadership tailored to account priorities.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with client procurement and delivery teams to support commercial processes and strengthen our position.
What we’re looking for:
Core skills
Experience in account management, client advisory, or business development within professional services, with a track record of growing complex, multi-service line client relationships.
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing account teams in a matrixed environment, setting clear expectations and driving accountability.
Strong executive presence and ability to engage and shape outcomes with C-suite, procurement, and senior internal stakeholders.
Commercial mindset including experience leading rate cards, MSAs, RFPs, and contract negotiations.
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trusted, durable working relationships across client procurement, delivery teams, internal stakeholders, and connected teams.
Proactive problem solver who identifies issues early, thinks laterally, and works collaboratively across teams to resolve them before they escalate.
Strong organisational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines concurrently.
Confident with data, CRM systems (Salesforce, iPower, PowerBI), and AI-enabled platforms as core tools of the role.
Desirable skills
Genuine curiosity in client businesses and a drive to find efficiencies and new ways of working through AI and emerging tools.
Ability to anticipate change, shift priorities, and operate effectively across a dynamic portfolio of accounts.
Experience thriving in a fast-moving, matrixed environment, actively strengthening collaboration across onshore teams, connected teams, and delivery networks.
A solutions-oriented mindset — bringing creativity and commercial discipline to everything from pipeline conversion to delivery challenges.
A natural drive toward account excellence, with an instinct for operating rhythm, governance, and disciplined follow-through.
