Description
Join a Team That Moves Extraordinary Things.
For more than 100 years, M.S. Rau has built a worldwide reputation for offering museum-quality fine art, antiques, jewelry, and historical treasures. Behind every acquisition, exhibition, and client installation is an exceptional Operations team that ensures these remarkable objects are transported safely and professionally.
We're looking for an experienced Logistics Specialist to serve as a driver while supporting warehouse operations, art handling, and client installations. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in precision, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
This position requires extensive local and overnight, out-of-town driving using company vehicles, including 24-foot box trucks. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and be comfortable safely transporting valuable artwork and furnishings.
Why You'll Love Working Here
At M.S. Rau, you'll become part of a close-knit team dedicated to preserving and presenting some of the world's finest works of art and historical objects. Every day is different—from preparing exhibitions and client installations to transporting extraordinary pieces across the country.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a driver for gallery deliveries, client installations, vendor pickups, and transfers between company locations.
- Execute the daily warehouse move sheet while coordinating priorities with the Logistics Lead and Supervisor.
- Safely load, transport, secure, and unload artwork, antiques, furniture, and other high-value inventory.
- Pack, crate, and prepare inventory for shipment, storage, exhibitions, and client deliveries.
- Maintain warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and inventory storage locations.
- Assist with gallery installations, exhibition setup, trade shows, and special events.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and assist with fleet cleanliness and maintenance.
- Serve as the primary backup to the Logistics Lead by helping coordinate workflow and providing guidance to others.
- Represent M.S. Rau professionally while working with clients, vendors, and visitors.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, delivery, warehousing, moving, art handling, or a related operational environment.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
- Ability to safely handle valuable, fragile, and oversized objects.
- Experience with fine art, antiques, furniture, packing, crating, forklifts, or woodworking is a plus.
What to Expect
This position is based primarily in our warehouse but regularly works throughout the gallery, client homes, vendor locations, convention centers, and other off-site venues. This is an active, physical position requiring the ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds independently (and heavier items with assistance), operate company vehicles including box trucks, and frequently walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, and safely handle valuable artwork and furnishings throughout the workday.
Compensation, Work Schedule & Travel
- Compensation will be comprised of a very competitive salary commensurate with experience, with eligibility to earn quarterly and annual bonuses.
- This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The normal schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Rotating Saturdays are required, with a scheduled day off during the workweek to maintain a 40-hour workweek.
- Work schedules may vary based on deliveries, travel, client installations, trade shows, gallery events, and other business needs. Occasional evening work may be required.
