Are you an experienced Payroll Manager looking for your next leadership opportunity?
We're partnering with a well-established, values-led organisation to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a national payroll function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a purpose-driven business where you'll play a key role in ensuring payroll excellence, driving process improvements and leading a high-performing team.
Reporting to the senior finance leadership team, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery across a multi-site organisation.
Working closely with Finance, HR and senior stakeholders, you'll provide expert payroll guidance while identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of accurate and timely payroll processing across the organisation.
- Ensure payroll compliance with relevant legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting and statutory obligations including superannuation and PAYG.
- Manage payroll systems, controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead, mentor and develop a small payroll team.
- Build strong relationships with Finance, HR and operational stakeholders.
- Monitor legislative changes and implement payroll updates where required.
- Support audits and ensure payroll data integrity and compliance.
About You
To be successful, you'll have:
- Extensive payroll leadership experience within a medium to large organisation.
- Proven experience managing and developing payroll teams.
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Excellent analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to payroll accuracy.
- The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across the business.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (HR3 and Humanforce experience is advantageous but not essential).
- Experience within the not-for-profit, education or community services sectors will be highly regarded.
