JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager – Continuous Improvement and Risk Management will lead the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of projects and transformation initiatives that support organisational objectives. The role will work across multiple business functions to drive accountability, manage stakeholders, and ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The role will also be responsible for continuous improvement and risk management, including identifying process inefficiencies, removing non-value-added activities, developing and implementing improvement action plans, and proactively managing risks, dependencies, and resources. The Manager will play a key role in coordinating strategic initiatives and driving sustainable business transformation across the organisation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Planning & Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of organisational initiatives from initiation through to closure.
- Define exercise scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and success criteria.
- Develop and maintain detailed plans, document progress towards meeting objectives and schedules.
- Ensure organisations projects are delivered within agreed scope, budget, quality, and timeline constraints.
- Monitor exercise/task performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Provide project management for the Continuous Improvement activities.
- Provide technical guidance, training or where required, directly investigate, implement and report on business issues.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with project sponsors, business leaders, and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, steering committees, and governance forums.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure timely communication of updates.
- Establish governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms.
- Prepare regular status reports, dashboards, and executive updates.
- Maintain documentation, including action logs, risk registers, and decision records.
- Ensure compliance with organisational standards and methodologies.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Monitor risk exposure and escalate significant concerns as required.
- Ensure timely resolution of blockers.
- Coordinate resources across functions and teams.
- Monitor budgets and expenditure against approved plans.
- Track resource utilisation and capacity requirements.
- Support financial forecasting and budget management activities.
- Assess, document, and manage change requests.
- Evaluate impacts on scope, timelines, resources, and budget.
- Support organisational readiness and adoption of new processes or systems.
- Facilitate smooth transition into business-as-usual operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve methodologies and governance.
- Support the development of CI management capabilities across the organisation.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Operations, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Understanding of lean techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, Process mapping, workflow analysis and PDCA/DMAIC methodologies.
- Experience in leading/project managing individuals & teams and possess bias towards action.
- Experience using statistical analysis tools and methodologies.
- Project Management certification preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Practitioner, Scrum Master, or equivalent) / Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desirable but not essential.
- ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, or QMS exposure desirable but not essential.
- 6-9 years of project management experience delivering medium to large-scale projects.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders across varying levels of seniority.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, governance, reporting, budget management, and risk management.
- Experience within transformation, operational improvement, technology, or business change programmes is desirable.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams around transformation objectives.
