Project Manager, Water Resources | Columbia, SC | Hybrid
THE OPPORTUNITY
An established, multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm is looking for a Water Resources Project Manager in Columbia, South Carolina. You'll lead stormwater management and drainage design for transportation infrastructure projects, with meaningful ownership of technical delivery and the chance to collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines. This is an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging H&H problems and wants to play a visible role in a close-knit local office backed by a larger organization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Lead stormwater management and roadway drainage design for transportation projects.
Evaluate existing drainage systems and design new storm drainage facilities, ditches, pipe networks and culverts.
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including major bridge and culvert crossings, floodplain impacts and scour evaluations.
Develop plans, reports, permit-related materials, specifications and construction cost estimates.
Coordinate with project teams and agency stakeholders, contribute to quality deliverables and help guide less-experienced staff.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years of civil engineering experience supporting transportation projects, with experience appropriate for project management responsibilities.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months of hire.
Strong experience with stormwater management, roadway drainage and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
Familiarity with MicroStation, HEC-RAS and SWMM, as well as relevant drainage-design tools.
Experience with SCDOT and other South Carolina agencies is valuable. South Carolina coastal-project experience is a plus, not a requirement.
