Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of industrial piping projects involving aviation fuel, diesel fuel, and process piping systems. The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary teams, ensure compliance with industry codes and safety standards, control project budgets and schedules, and deliver high-quality mechanical installations for fuel handling, storage, distribution, and process systems in industrial, aviation, and energy environments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for industrial piping projects, including aviation fuel systems (Jet A, Avgas), diesel fuel systems, and process piping (hydrocarbons, chemicals, utilities).
- Develop detailed project execution plans, schedules (Primavera P6 or MS Project), budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
- Oversee engineering design coordination (P&IDs, isometrics, stress analysis, material selection) with internal and external engineering teams.
- Manage procurement of piping materials, valves, fittings, pumps, tanks, and specialized equipment, ensuring compliance with project specifications and vendor qualifications.
- Coordinate construction activities including fabrication, welding, installation, testing (hydrostatic, pneumatic), flushing, and commissioning of fuel and process systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to applicable codes and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.4, API 610/650/653, NFPA 30/407, EI 1540/1542, ASTM, etc.).
- Enforce rigorous safety, quality, and environmental standards, particularly for hazardous fuel handling and process systems (HAZOP participation, permit-to-work systems, LOTO).
- Monitor project progress, cost, and performance; prepare status reports, change orders, and forecasts for stakeholders.
- Interface with clients, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory bodies; lead progress meetings and resolve technical or commercial issues.
- Manage subcontractors and site teams; ensure proper documentation, as-built drawings, and turnover packages.
- Support bid proposals, estimating, and technical evaluations for new opportunities in fuel and process piping.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, constructability, and lessons learned.
Reporting Structure

Physical Requirements
This position required Team Members to work in the Field and office setting. When working in the field Team Members will work around moving heavy machinery, equipment, and outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and cold. The noise level may be loud at times due to machinery and equipment. Must be able to move objects weighing up to 40 lbs. using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support repetitively for 10 to 20
minute intervals without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs for the duration of shift. When in the office, Team Members can anticipate Sedentary work in a climate controlled environment with moderate noise levels. Most duties performed require the use of a computer, phone, and in person, or virtual meetings. Maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods during the shift. Constant operation of computer and other office equipment such as copy machine, phone, and printer. Occasionally transport objects up to 15 lbs. such as small parcels, packages, and other items.
