Description

About the Role

As a Private Credit SME in the Data Managed Services team, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients onboarding private credit investments onto our investment management platform. You will bridge the gap between complex credit documentation, structured data requirements, and downstream/upstream system integration — ensuring that key data attributes are captured accurately, governed appropriately, and structured for diverse uses including covenant monitoring, debt/amortisation schedule generation, and trade booking.

This role also carries a significant internal knowledge transfer and coaching mandate, equipping internal teams with the expertise and governance frameworks required to sustain best-in-class private credit data operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Requirements & Onboarding

  • Engage directly with institutional clients to elicit, document, and validate their requirements for onboarding private credit investments (syndicated loans, bilateral facilities, revolving credit facilities, term loans, mezzanine, etc.) onto the platform.

  • Conduct structured discovery sessions to understand clients’ operational workflows and dependencies.

  • Translate complex business requirements into clear data onboarding specifications, including attribute definitions, data structuring/categorisation, and mapping logic.

  • Manage end-to-end onboarding delivery, coordinating with technology, operations, and client teams to ensure accurate and timely data capture.

  • Act as the primary escalation point for clients on data quality, completeness, and structural issues during and after onboarding.

2. Private Credit Domain Expertise & Data Structuring

  • Demonstrate deep, working knowledge of private credit documentation, including Credit Agreements, Facility Agreements, Intercreditor Agreements, and associated schedules.

  • Advise on optimal data attribute groupings and hierarchies on the platform, aligning structure to specific downstream use cases:

  • Covenant Monitoring: both financial and non-financial maintenance covenants (leverage, interest cover, DSCR), incurrence covenants, reporting obligations, and others.

  • Debt & Amortisation Schedules: repayment profiles, PIK structures, mandatory/voluntary prepayment mechanics, commitment fee accruals, and draw-down schedules.

  • Trade Booking: Not critical, but a high level understanding on how certain data points are required for trade booking (or how changes to certain data points may impact downstream) is a bonus

  • Review and interpret credit documentation to identify non-standard provisions, bespoke covenants, or structural complexities that require custom data handling.

  • Maintain and evolve a reference data taxonomy and attribute library for private credit instruments on the platform.

  • Serve as an internal and client-facing subject matter expert on private credit instrument structuring, credit terms, and market conventions.

3. Knowledge Transfer, Coaching & Governance

  • Design and deliver structured training programmes to build internal team capability in private credit data onboarding, including loan document interpretation, data validation practices, and platform usage.

  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), data dictionaries, and quality checklists for private credit onboarding.

  • Establish and enforce data quality standards, including completeness checks, attribute validation rules, and audit trail requirements.

  • Mentor junior analysts and operations staff, providing ongoing coaching on credit documentation, data structuring decisions, and client communication best practices.

  • Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Risk teams to feed private credit expertise into platform roadmap decisions, ensuring the platform evolves to meet market needs.

  • Lead post-onboarding reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to identify gaps and refine processes.

Essential

  • 6+ years of experience in investment management, leveraged finance, loan operations, credit risk, or a related field, with direct exposure to private credit or syndicated loan markets.

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience working with private credit documentation, including Credit Agreements, Facility Agreements, and Intercreditor Agreements, in a professional capacity (legal, operations, structuring, credit analysis, or data management).

  • Deep working knowledge of private credit instrument types (RCF, Unitranche, Mezzanine, PIK, Second Lien, Bridge Loans, Preferred Equity/Structured Equity and others — candidates should be able to discuss the structural mechanics, documentation nuances, and data attribute implications of each instrument type.

  • Proven experience engaging with institutional clients or internal stakeholders to gather and translate complex requirements into operational or technical deliverables.

  • Experience with investment management or data management platforms.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex credit and data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a managed services, data operations, or client services role within an investment management or financial data firm.

  • Track record of designing and delivering training programmes or knowledge transfer initiatives in a financial services environment

  • Familiarity with downstream systems relevant to private credit workflows, including trade order management systems (OMS), portfolio management systems (PMS), and risk/compliance platforms.

  • Exposure to covenant monitoring platforms or loan agency functions.

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g. BCBS 239, DAMA-DMBOK) and their application in financial data contexts.

  • Experience in a client-facing consulting or advisory capacity.
