THE OPPORTUNITY
Join the team at Aspiring Dairy, a high-performing, organic dairy operation - just out of Foxton.
Jour the team as a Dairy Farm Assistant and grow your dairy farming career while working alongside an experienced and supportive Farm Manager.
As a Dairy Farm Assistant, you'll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day farm operation, including:
Milking and maintaining high milk quality standards
Animal health, welfare, and stock observation
Calving, mating, and young stock management
Feeding stock and pasture management
Effluent management and environmental compliance
Fencing, water systems, weed control, and general farm maintenance
Tractor operation and machinery use (where appropriate)
Maintaining a safe, tidy, and efficient working environment
Assisting with any other farm duties as required

THE FARM
Aspiring Dairy is a well-equipped organic operation featuring:
290 effective hectares
Approximately 650 peak cows
Modern 60-bail rotary dairy
In-shed feeding system
Modern effluent infrastructure
Reliable tractors and well-maintained farm machinery
Focus on animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement
Located just outside Foxton, you'll enjoy a relaxed rural lifestyle while remaining within easy reach of Palmerston North and Levin. The area offers excellent schooling, beautiful beaches, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, and a wide range of outdoor recreation opportunities.
ABOUT YOU
You are enthusiastic, dependable, and enjoys working outdoors as part of a team.
Ideally, you'll have:
Previous dairy farming experience (preferred but not essential)
A genuine interest in building a career in the dairy industry
A commitment to excellent animal welfare
Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team
A commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practice
A current New Zealand Restricted or Full Driver Licence
Knowledge of organics within Dairy farming (or a willingness to learn)
