Job Name: Communications & Digital Media Specialist
Reports To: Associate Director, Communications
Department: Communications
FLSA Status: Exempt - You must complete the application to view salary details within the screener questions.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. / 37.5 hours weekly; occasional evening/weekend work and up to 15% travel.
This is a hybrid role based in Nashville, TN. It is not completely remote, and you will be required to work in the Nashville office two days per week (or as needed).
Position Summary
The Communications & Content Specialist develops and manages written and digital communications that support NASBA's programs, services and initiatives. This position creates content for websites, email, social media, publications and other communication channels, while helping ensure messaging is clear, accurate and consistent across the organization.
The Communications & Content Specialist serves as the department's lead for social media and public-facing content while providing writing, editing and communications support for departments across the organization.
Requirements
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage NASBA's social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and X) and forums, including content planning, writing, video/imagery creation, publishing, and monitoring.
- Monitor social media performance and metrics, and recommend improvements based on audience engagement and results.
- Support executive thought leadership by developing leadership communications.
- Write, edit and proofread content for websites, blogs, newsletters, press releases, speeches, talking points, email campaigns and publications.
- Review communication materials developed by departments to ensure accuracy, clarity and consistency.
- Develop content for conference mobile applications and develop attendee communications as needed.
- Serve as speaker liaison for NASBA conferences, including collecting bios, headshots, speaker preferences, etc., and serving as on-site contact.
- Serve as a content development and digital media resource for Boards of Accountancy and internal clients.
- Assist with media materials, announcements and public communications.
- Assist with communication planning for meetings, conferences and special projects.
- Travel up to 15%
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) and content management systems (i.e., Sprout Social)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical skills
- Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
- Understanding and prior use of conference apps, such as EventMobi

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in communications, social media, marketing, or journalism is preferred

Some work from home is flexible; however, you must live in the Middle TN area and not out of state. This is not a full-time remote position, and you must work in the Nashville, TN office two days per week or as needed.
