About the Role
This role is primarily a Databricks build. You will take ownership of a greenfield platform on Databricks and Delta Lake, responsible for ingesting signals from marketing platforms, and transforming them into a unified account journey view that drives attribution and media optimisation across a major enterprise engagement.Beyond that core programme, you will also contribute to existing client work on our Microsoft and Azure data stack — SQL Server, SSIS, and Azure Data Factory — where your broader data engineering experience will add immediate value.
What You Bring
Required — Databricks - 3+ years building production systems on Databricks
- Demonstrated experience with Delta Live Tables, Databricks Workflows, and PySpark at production scale
- Working knowledge of Unity Catalog, Delta Lake versioning, and Databricks SQL
- Strong Python skills for data transformation and pipeline logic
- Experience using Genie for writing code, building reports and establishing spaces.
- Experience integrating with REST APIs from Databricks and using connectors.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD for data pipelines, and dev/staging/prod environment management
- Comfortable with data modelling concepts in a Lakehouse context
Required — General
- 6+ years of overall data engineering experience
- Strong SQL across both T-SQL and ANSI/cloud SQL dialects
- Excellent communication skills; able to work directly with senior client-facing stakeholders
- Experience building pipelines that feed reporting tools such as Power BI
Preferred — Databricks
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional certification
- Experience with MLflow for model tracking and Databricks Feature Store
Preferred — Microsoft Stack
