Description
Onslow County drivers, and veterans getting out of Camp Lejeune: a regional trucking job that trains you, guarantees your pay while you start, and keeps you in the eastern states.
New to driving? That is who this job is built for.
Questions new drivers ask us
- “I just got my CDL. Will anyone hire me?” Yes. You train with a mentor for 4 to 6 weeks, paid $850 a week.
- “What if my first months solo are slow?” Your pay will not drop below $1,000 a week for the first 3 months.
- “I am a veteran. Does that help?” Military experience is considered with a DD214, and your recruiter can tell you about the veterans apprenticeship program.
- “Does my CDL school count?” If it was 120 hours or more, yes.
Pay
- $1,200 to $1,700 average per week
- $0.55 per mile to start, up to $0.65 with experience
- $15 for each extra stop
- Monthly performance bonus on top
- 1,900 to 2,300 miles weekly
The work
Dry van freight across the East, never west of the Mississippi. Drop and hook, preloads and some live loads. You are home every two weeks, and your truck is assigned to you.
Your first steps
A recruiter calls and checks your license and record with you up front. Orientation is in Richmond, takes 2 days at most, and pays $300 once you are hired, with the hotel covered and your bus ticket reimbursed. Then mentor training, then your own truck.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL, 21 or older
- New driver with a 120 hour school certificate, or 6 months of recent experience
- Record: no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years, no DUI/DWI in 10
- DOT physical and hair and urine drug test
Once you pass 30 days: medical, dental, vision, Rx, 401(k), employee stock plan, paid time off, and a tuition free online degree for you plus one family member.
